A “ghost update” is not an official IRCC update. It seems to be a precursor to an update that will come to your file. In my case, 4 days after the ghost update my BG check was completed.
I’d give it a few days if I were you and watch for updates regularly. If nothing else it’s a positive sign that your application is being worked on in some form

I have same situation I received a test invite email today 5 minutes ago, however status is not yet updated
I also have a question it says that i cannot take test on Microsoft surface pro, i have a surface pro does it not allow you to take test using it as it is technically works as a laptop
I do not think it will stop you from taking the test, however there is a very high possibility that the test result might be negated due to technical issue. IRCC may have encountered bugs or some other irregularity while undertaking the test using a surface pro. I would suggest to use some other device, just to avoid any undue delay.

My brother also received his test invite email about an hour ago. Though it does look like they're behind in updating the online tracker which shows no updates (check your emails folks!). Finally, it looks like our applications are being handled by two different offices based on the email addresses of the email senders.
