Finally, today the online tracker changed the words to "Updated: June 15, 2022" and my background check is complete.

My sibling's graduation is in the first week of July, outside Canada. I don't have any flights or hotels booked, but I do have the invite, ticket, and related emails. Would that be enough to make a case for urgent processing?

EDIT: Any other tips welcome. Reading experiences of people with renewing passports this summer, and it doesn't look like a good time.

Hey guys, does anyone know or is aware of any forum - after the oath ceremony, how long can I remain out of the country? Specifically wanted to know about India. My wife is on maternity leave currently and we plan to spend some time back home with our parents. She wants to spend about 6-7 months there and we are planning to travel in Aug - Sept. What is the best course of option here, apart from delaying our oath ceremony?

got the email details with Zoom link, seat number, etc. 1 week before the actual Oath date

I think you are from Alberta office right ? and when did the application got updated after the oath and when did you finally got hold your certificate?

Hello Everyone,

Final update on my application.
Citizenship Oath ceremony Completed - June 10th, 2022.
Application now closed. A year old struggle finally completed. The next struggle is to get a passport .. Any tips would appreciate for applying in Calgary to get passport quicker?

I did my Oath (Montreal) on May 13th. Until now no certificate yet. This is too much. I’m on my 5th week waiting. My application closed on May 20th on tracker.

Ordered IRCC ATIP notes on 17 May and got them today exactly after 1 month.

My thoughts: What a complete waste of $5. Here is how Status changes and due dates works I think.

AOR to Citizenship Test: ( Default Due Date : + 3 months )
Finger Print Request received to Criminality/ Background passed: ( Default Due Date : + 1.5-3 months )
Background Passed to Rest of Status( except Oath ) completed: ( Default Due Date : + 3 months )
Oath Request: ( Default Due Date : + 1-2 months )

Everything else in the notes is history of what you see on your account.

My application has already crossed 1 year timeline. All I hope is it is closed before the fingerprints expire i.e. 1 year validity,

All I have to do is WAIT

I never ordered the one we have to pay, I ordered the other one and I got way more details about the process than what you’ve mentioned!

I have not received an update in tracker yet. Received a call today asking if I am in Canada. It was from the same officer who asked for the passport scans in March. Then a few minutes ago I received the Notice to Appear email from Niagara Falls Office.

So Relieved that the application got closed today. Also, received the Citizenship certificate through Purolator this morning.
