I just heard today that FINALLY my medical is passed! Didn't end up receiving a PFL, they accepted that my MS drugs are below the threshold for inadmissibility and moved on.
Thanks
@legalfalcon for the guidance on how to get medical GCMS notes, that made a huge difference for me and my lawyer in understanding exactly what has happened. Turns out they actually did the full medical assessment in April 2020, before I even got AOR. They had used the information from my panel physician regarding my medication and assessed that it is more than the average canadian but that the temporary public policy of 20k/yr threshold can be applied to my case.
This means that the weird "medical - passed" entry in the comment notes when eligibility was accepted by the officer in july 2020 was not a mistake. That was the officer acknowledging that the temporary policy applies. But somewhere along the way someone failed to actually set medical status to passed, so it was hanging open.
I am relieved that I am now at the "everything passed" stage, but I am super annoyed that I SHOULD have been at this stage in early december when biometrics was accepted. If someone hadn't made a mistake earlier in the year. Maybe I could have been approved back then and saved the cost and effort of BOWP application, not to mention the drama of stress during implied status....
