They ask fingerprints normally when your last name is blank or if your last name is really common to run a Criminal Check. Hence they ask for a RCMP Fingerprinting. It's like a Canadian PCC.

Why they ask for it? many reasons including Criminal Check. However, for the time frame, it ads at least 3 months to the entire process. My wife, they asked for her FP in November, till now she is In Process while I turned to DM on Nov 17th. So luck is needed always when it comes to FP.

Besides, on CIC website, it says that when they ask for FP, the application is usually considered Non Routine (link below)

My information was added to the 'May 2019 Applicants' Google doc, but I do not see myself there! Admin, please add my information again. Thank you.

Hi guys,

We just passed the citizenship test today at Glen Erin Mississauga. 20/20 for the three of us. Waiting for oath taking email and mail for the coming 4 weeks. Good luck to all. Be patient.

Hi Guys ,

I passed my test today got 20-20. Test was super easy as long as you read the book and do online practice tests you won’t have any problems. The interview was about 5-10 minutes and they asked to have the following documents ready and were quite strict that you have all the documents in hand before entering for the interview :

PR card
Passports
Health card
Drivers license
Landed document ( or a permanent resident confirmation )

After the test you get called for the interview quite quickly , 5-30 mins and it’s short and they have probably 4-6 officers interviewing so ppl get called in every minute. As for the interview it probably lasted 5 mins. They tell you on your interview wether or not you passed the test and what your score was. The immigration officer was mostly checking my docs -health card , drivers license ,passport but not stamps , just making sure that the copies provided with the application match. She asked if I currently work and I said I currently don’t and then she asked how I’m supporting myself financially etc. After the interview she advised that my application has been approved and I just have to wait for the oath ceremony invitation.

Good luck guys !!!
