Same Here is your visa office OTtawa?
There are quite a few layers to this question so let me try and address them layer by layer. Also just for the record - this is my 2 cents and I am sure someone else will have a different opinion.Hi All,
I hope everyone here and your families are in good health and doing fine. This is my timeline:
AOR - 4/May/2019
Golden Mail - 2/March/2020
Passport sent for stamping - 03/March/2020
Visa and CoPR recd- 14/March/2020
NDVO
Now I’m in such a dilemma that my Visa and medical expires on the 21/April/2020. I don’t know whether it is a good idea to travel before this that is after the April 15th and before the April 21st as International flights will not be operating in India before April 15th or to inform CIC about the situation and that I cannot travel due to Corona Virus as it is not safe to travel. I would really appreciate it if anybody travelling now or travelled recently can give me some inputs as to what would be the best thing to do at this situation. If I have to inform CIC how long will the process of re-doing medicals and re-issuing visa and CoPR take? How are things in Canada? What are the options to travel from the airport to any hotel or air bnb? Will the job market be okay in one month’s time? Thank you so much in advance for all your replies. This forum has helped me cope with all my anxieties and worries during my waiting period for the PR. Thank you, prayers and good luck coming to all in this forum.
No, my case is not posted on immitracker. I am from India. So, exactly the same situation. Elegibility and Criminality also passed and Security also not started.
May I know your stream and country of residence?
Is your case at my immitracker.com?
I guess now no movement of the case whatsoever for 3 weeks.Same here AOR: May 2019, VO: NDVO
No update since last 10 months.
Waiting for any update -- & now this lockdown in India for 3 weeks.
Wondering if nobody is working in NDVO for these 3 weeks or what?
Thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate it, as it did make me go through the pros and cons and I have decided to mail CIC about not being able to travel due to the current situation and whenever they decide to get back to me on the further steps to be taken I’ll see what best can be done. Hoping for the best for everyone here and all over the world. Stay safe, stay home and stay healthy. Thank you once again for your valuable response. It really did help me in making a decision as to what’s the best to be done in the current situation. Take care. There are quite a few layers to this question so let me try and address them layer by layer. 1) All flights are suspended in India till April 15th - Yes but keep in mind that this suspension can be extended unless the situation changes drastically both within and outside the country. From the looks of - I doubt we will be anywhere close to done with this pandemic mid-April so chances are this suspension of flights will continue beyond April 15th and on that account itself I would contact IRCC and let them know it is not possible for you to travel right now and ask how they can defer the landing process.
2) Location - Where are you planning to land? Where are you planning to eventually settle? These are important considerations. Remember that for the first 3 months after you land, you will not have access to to Canada's health care system unless you purchase it privately - which is very expensive. Ontario has waived this amid the ongoing crisis so if Ontario is your destination you may not have to purchase private health care. Even then I am not aware of the bells and whistles attached to this and if Ontario is not your destination then I would think really hard of whether I really need to move right away.
3) Job Market - This is never quite easy to answer but most companies currently have a hiring freeze right now. Will the situation get better in a month? Maybe but unlikely. The situation is changing drastically everyday here and the measure are getting stricter, not easier. I hope for the best but it just doesn't look like we wile be out of this anytime soon.
4) Travels - Regarding your travel from airpor to hotel/airbnb answer, yes - that is still feasible. But Canada has imposed a mandatory quarantine for 14 days so even when you get here you will have to be in quarantine for 14 days before you can go out for the essential services such as opening bank accounts, applying for SIN, health insurance etc (at least that's my understanding).
I understand this is in no way an easy decision and there maybe several other factors that you have to take into consideration before making this decision. But unless you absolutely have to - I think you should wait. If you explain this to IRCC, I am sure they will figure out an alternative. This just is the worst time for this but we are all in together. Hope things work out for you. Stay safe, stay indoors!
I am glad I could be of help. I hope this situation gets better soon so you can start your new life in Canada. We will get out of this eventually. All the Best!Thank you so much for your response. You are eligible to apply for the open bridging work permit. Please check you AOR letter and it’s mentioned there. If your R10 completeness check is OK then they will issue the permit valid for one year.Hi,
My AOR: May-2019 & Work-Permit expires on 30-Apr-20.
Should I apply for extension of Work-Permit – ONLINE or In-Person@Port ofEntry (at any border) ??
Any suggestions?
Is anyone getting updates this week? I sent them another email last week and got a generic reply... My application is stuck in medical exam approved since July 10th... my medical will expire soon...
