I raised webform last week nda got response just now stating ;

"
  • The responsible office is currently verifying if your application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied,
    • you may be contacted via your account if additional information is needed.
  • The background verifications are currently valid.
  • The security verifications are currently valid
  • The criminality verifications are currently valid
So security and background is passed but I am confused with eligibility which is mentioned as currently verifying...

So can I consider this response which I received stating "Background, Security and criminality are valid", should be like my file has passed all the stages and I should just wait for PPR mail because I got a GU on Jan 7th and on Jan 8th received the above response which I raised through webform. Just curious enough to know that am I ready to land in Canada and should starting booking the flight tickets :)...!!! Or is too early to start Celebrate :(

I’ve been silently following this thread and you all have been a great help in this long wait!

I received the golden email this morning.

I noticed a ghost update this morning, my application status changed from Submitted to Application / profile updated. And then about two hours later I received the email.

I have no idea why they ignore our application

We did our part, provide all the info in timely matter ...this is so unfair for us to wait that long because of their laziness and inefficiency.

My life plan got stuck just because of this PR thing...uuughhh

So I just got off the phone with them 2 minutes ago - and the application has not moved AT ALL. Criminality is passed, Eligibility still under review, Security has not yet started. This is 8 months in now - I don't even know how to express my frustration! They basically haven't even looked at the application. Sigh!

Did you show your anger or frustration to them ? Do they say anything why is that happen and how much more we need to wait

No - I don't think showing anger or frustration on a call center employee that cannot do anything to move your application is going to help in any way and I don't think its a good thing either. I did ask her if she could provide any sort of ETA and she just gave the generic reply of "unfortunately no but when a decision is made or if we need any more information we will get in touch with you." The only reason I called is to see if the application had moved in any way and she just confirmed my worst fear that 8 months after submitting my application nobody has looked at it. At this point I am just worried this is going to turn into an endless wait.

Is there anything we can do to draw some attention? We can't just sit here and wait for nothing.

Do you think email to IRCC minister will help or anyway to contact upper management? even 1% of chance

Don't know what to tell you bud - I have read on other forums that sometimes approaching your locally elected officials can help but then I have heard stories where that's a waste of time. Either ways I am not an inland applicant so can't do that. As for writing to the IRCC minister - I am sure they have better things to do specially as there are probably thousands like us who have to wait more than 6 months so not sure you will even get a response. I mean 8 months isn't exactly unheard of. We are at the mercy of the Nova Scotia visa office - for better or worse.

Yea I contact the local MP and they only provide me the application status but I prefer if they can rush the IRCC to process.

I will still try to write to minister and I just hope he will read and bring him little attention on Sydney office. see if it is a resource problem or employees just making short talk all the time..
