Updated, thanksPlease update. Thanks!
- We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on May 23, 2018.
- We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on July 17, 2018.
- We started processing your application on February 14, 2019.
- We sent you a notice on April 4, 2019 to appear and write the citizenship test on April 25, 2019. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
- You became a Canadian citizen on April 25, 2019.
P.S.: This is a minor's application. After the interview, they called me to pick up the citizenship certificate on the next day.
Each case is different and may take different amount of time. Don't be impatient, trust Canada, Canadian system and fellow Canadians otherwise I will advise to retract your application and apply else where if you think nothing is meaningful in Canada
I would agree, patience is the key. Good luck to all who are waiting. Each case is different and may take different amount of time. I cleared citizenship test and got invite for Oath in a month, in my Case system was very efficient and I appreciate them for faster processing. So projecting the same principle, you believe all Canadians should blindly accept the running systems without questioning them else they need to renounce their citizenship?!! I admire the patience and the trust you have in the running systems but at the same time i don't think it's a good idea to question those who don't.
On another note, "each case is different" is a statement many IRCC agents keep uttering on all cases that are delayed; while this might be true for some, i'm sure it's not true for others. For example, my background check (including criminality clearance) was fully completed back in June 2018 and was tagged for test invite since then! I find it hard to understand how people who applied in July or August 2018 in the same office (1 or 2 months after my background check was completed) got to have their oath invite while I'm still waiting for the test invite. The system is clearly inefficient in some parts of it to say the least and people who question the efficiency of the system have the full right to do so.
My 2 cents...
Thanks; I wish everyone understands this.I would agree, patience is the key. Good luck to all who are waiting.
Congratulations and well said. System is already very fair and efficient; it's a mtter of time and your trust in the system.I cleared citizenship test and got invite for Oath in a month, in my Case system was very efficient and I appreciate them for faster processing.

What are your DM and oath invite dates?Hey all!
Here are my updates.
AOR - June 25th 2018
In Process - Aug 1st 2018
FP request - Sept 25th 2018
Test invite - Apr 4th 2019
Test/interview - Apr 24th 2019
Oath - Apr 26th 2019 in Murphy Center, Charlottetown, PEI
You can put Apr 24th 2019 for both. Like I said, since we don't have an IRCC office here, they sent officers from Halifax to do tests/interview/ceremony/certificates grant altogether. We were given Oath invite in the test on Wednesday, the Ceremony happened on Friday and we received certificates right in the Ceremony. I think the process is a bit different in big provinces. What are your DM and oath invite dates?
