I'm an April applicant, but thought I'd answer your question.

They sure do. I talked to CIC and they said applicants that meet "certain criteria" can be sent to Ottawa. I asked what that criteria was and they didn't give me much - said that it depends on the Country they are from and if they require a visa to come to Canada or not among other things.

My husband is Irish and his application went to Ottawa.

Thank you for your reply Canadian_Irish. Sounds like you're in luck and likely to have a quick positive response.
I don't hold out hope for my hubby's app to go to Ottawa now as he's from a Visa country. Oh well. I just need to be patient.
Best of luck to you and to all of us.

Hi EKate20132015!

I will be in the same situation than you as I need to soon send my FBI clearance to CIC (after already mailing the application package earlier). Can I ask which address you used, and did you have your UCI already? I will use the webform for the copy as well, but since they clearly state that the criminal records should be the original document I want to mail them it.

Thanks a lot for your answer in advance!

Hey! Yeah, I did have a UCI already, as it was from my previous work & visitor permits. And I wouldn't advise emailing them the clearance, now that I recieved the reply asking me to resubmit it in the "Case Specific Enquiry" format. So I would suggest you do that, just send the scanned clearance via Case Specific. And obviously send the hard copy, because that is what is important. I emailed the scanned copy as just an extra precaution. It probably wasn't even needed haha

Thank you for your answer! I was only thinking about using the webform plus mailing the original anyway, but it's good to have a confirmation that emailing isn't required. For mailing, did you use the same Mississauga address than for the application? I'm just wondering whether the additional documents will find their way to the VO (London for me) if I use the Mississauga address.

Thanks again!

I just sent it to Mississauga, yes. I didn't worry about it being separated because I received and sent it off only 6 days after my application was received by CIC-M. There wasn't a large gap in time for me.

Okay, I'll assess my application status when I receive the FBI records. Thanks a lot a again for your help!

Hello All,
I am wondering what are the chances of sponsor rejection?
do they send any query if they have any objection for the same?
how you get the sponsor approval?
what is to look for ? email or mail?
thanks

Sponsor rejection is rare. It's normally because the person was on welfare without paying it back or has certain serious criminality issues, etc. Or if the sponsor resides outside of Canada and provides inadequate proof of intention to return. Normally, the sponsor will get approval by email, if not mail. This takes 40+ days.
