Right? This is how I feel too! Relieved and nauseated, all in one! I just sent mine off today!

I kind of expected to feel more relieved than I do. I'm more nervous than anything, hoping we haven't forgot anything or filled out something the wrong way. I mean, we have checked everything about a million times, but that feeling won't go away.

Oh well... breathe and wait it is ;D

I TOTALLY AGREE! It's a mixed feeling - weird, worried, happy, and HOPEFUL!

Hi There!

I'm a newbie here. I hope someone can help me regarding my questions.

We got married last FEBRUARY 2016. I already got my husband's complete application package including the upfront medical. I got my application package completed as well. In short, everything is ready to submit, but I was quite hesitant and confused.

Reason: My marital status in my sponsorship application is MARRIED.

My Option-C marital status in CRA is COMMON-LAW.

Will it affect my application to sponsor my husband??

I declared him as my common-law partner in CRA for my income tax purposes, but I didn't declare in my application to sponsor that I've been to common-law relationship.

My sister did the same thing too, but she already got her husband here in Toronto without getting any problem with the marital status with the CRA and CIC.

Hope someone can answer me. I wanna submit our application before May ends.

Thank you so much!

If I understand your question correctly, you are asking if there's a problem because your Option C says Common Law
but your Application says Married.
If I am correct, you are indicating you had a legally recognized registered marriage in February 2016.

If I'm understand those fact correctly, there would be no problem because
the Option C shows the information from your previous tax filing year. At that time you were not legally married.

I think it's probably not a problem, unless I've misunderstood the facts.

Hi There. Thanks for your response. You got my info correct. But the thing is, won't it be questioned in the future that I've been in a common law relationship but I never declare on my application. There's a question in the application form asking if you have been in a common law before?
