Great thank you! I am a Canadian and my husband is Indian. Currently we are in the Middle East. Do I need to be in Canada during the application process?
No. As long as you are a Canadian citizens you can sponsor a spouse from abroad. You will have to provide intent to return to Canada though. No problem :).

Congratulations to fellow MAY applicants who got AOR1!

I have a few questions though:

(1) My name, sponsor, on the AOR1 email is spelled incorrectly. Do I need to contact them? The UCI # is correct.

(2) I still can't access e-cas. For those who got AOR1, are you able to access e-cas now?

One more question. When it's time to hear from Cic will they email both my husband and I or just one of us? Both emails are in the application.

Hello. I think you should send them a letter, explaining the spelling mistake on AOR 1. Be sure to quote your UCI or App number. No, I still can't access e-cas. But my husband's, the PA, account got updated. It says there that his medical has been received.

The Sponsor will get correspondence regarding the sponsorship approval.
After the file is transferred to your VO, the PA will be receiving he correspondence

I can only access my husband's account. try using the application number provided in your AOR 1 and your wife's (PA) name/info. That's what I did. It should show you your wife's application status.

Three days I think. I got my AOR on May 20th. My app was filed on May 3rd.

Just now I tried both, my info (sponsor) or husband's info in ecas and still nothing.

My application was received may 2nd but I haven't received anything? How come some whose application was received after mine has gotten a response? Is that normal?

It is normal. It doesn't mean as well that those who got AOR1 will be the first to finish too.

You can even check April 2016 applicants and some of them are still waiting. It seems that CIC doesn't have an "order" when processing applications.

That's crazy! Why wouldn't they have an order?
