You may star applying after the date you arrived in Canada (i.e. immediately after the date you became PR).

You would qualify i believe next yr only because of the 180 days rule within a calendar yr requirement.

So in CIC's eyes, you stayed 2013, 2014 ,2015, 2016(running), so Jan 2017? This is my understanding of CIC's rules. other members can confirm this.

From the CIC website:

Time you have lived in Canada

You must have been physically present in Canada as a permanent resident for at least 1,460 days during the six years immediately before the date of your application. You must also be physically present for at least 183 days during each of four calendar years that are fully or partially within the six years immediately before the date of application. These requirements do not apply to children under 18.

If you became PR on September 30, 2012, and you did not leave Canada since you that date, then you can apply for citizenship from October 1st 2016. By October 1st 2016 you would have spent 1462 days in Canada. The total number of days required is 1460.

Number of days physically present per calendar year (in your own case) will be:
2012 93
2013 365
2014 365
2015 365
2016 274

Therefore you would be qualify to apply from October 1st 2016.

Holy cow!
They really reduced the delays, BIG TIME!
All of you got it done within 4 months and a half! :o

I passed the test (20/20) on August 11. I've updated my entry in the Google Doc.

My interview went well, although the officer noted that we had forgotten to declare all of my day trips to the USA (Only around 3 or 4 in total). She told me they would have to check with CBSA to confirm my re-entry into Canada on these dates. She said this wouldn't be a major issue, but I'm wondering if it will significantly delay my application?

Does anyone else have experience with something similar?

Thanks.

Did the test this morning and passed 19/20. I had some issues also with the travel dates not corresponding but the officer said he's approving the file.

Hopefully will get the notice to swear in soon!

For those of you who went to the Mississauga Office in Glen Erin did you all experience some poor service issues with the Security Guard at that location.

I found that he was quite a Pig when speaking to people.

Congrats! Please can you estimate the total number of hours you spent at the test/interview centre? Thank you.
