Hey all, So I woke up this morning and ecas changed to DM! They received my file May 29th and I got my AoR on July 7th.. Ecas said it sent correspondence to me about my decision on July 28th, but didn't get any email, so I called and spoke to a friendly agent. (Rare it seems). They said I got SA and our app is being sent to Ottawa for processing!! Hope everyone who's been waiting will get their SA soon.. :)

Congratulations. A great way to start the day :D

I ordered notes on my file so I can better understand why its taking so much longer then everyone else.
I did call back and ask them to explain to me again , because it was quite confusing and I wanted to know how to
request notes.
He said something about my SIN card but was not really able to elaborate on it much but that is being
processed and I will know by Sept 24th at the latest. He said he does not know why its taking longer then
average but that they are working on it.

Oh man, I hope everything works out and you get your SA soon! Before we got our SA, when my husband called, the call centre people always gave us answers that made no sense whatsoever. So hear's to hoping that that they don't know what they're talking about and you get your DM this week :)!

My ecas shows DM! "We sent you correspondence on July 27, 2015 about the decision on your application."
:D

I am assuming this is SA; will wait for the official letter/email from them to see where our file was sent.

The real wait now begins...

Thanks Girturtle.
You know its odd, they tell us not to call until the time frame passes and
when that does happen they give me run around information and tell me
not to call until 2 more months passes .....

Almostpainful wait.. that will likely be your SA . Congratulations ~ !

Thank you Gemmie

Guys, do you know if the Ecase is updated only the tuesdays (as the webpage says) or if it change continuously during the week??
We still waiting for any news about our application ::)

The processing times webpage says Tuesdays but lately it has been changing on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday although the "working on" date seems to be till a Tuesday. I check eCAS 7 days a week, and my last change was on a Thursday around midnight. I didn't see anywhere on the eCAS page that it only updates on Tuesdays. Anyway whatever they say I have been checking at least twice a day every day because you never know.

Well I did as some people told and called this morning for my "weekly" call.. figured I'd start off with someone
who is not dying to get out of there for their weekend and try to get someone who I am their first person
of the day.

This seemed to work in my favor.

The agent gave me a specific reason for my delay which is reasonable and I completely understand now.
As soon as my province gets back to them with the verification they will be finished. Everything else is
done and they are just waiting on my province to let them know the answer.

That was a truthful reasonable answer , given in less then five minutes with the agent today and no
time frame given on when this will be done because it is up to my province to respond and not
up to them.

Why some make it so difficult and others just give straight answers it beyond me but I am now
going to just sit tight and wait as I know that what they are looking into will check out fine and
I only hope my province answers them quickly.

Good luck to all the people waiting on their decisions this week.

Good your mind is more at rest about it now Gemmie.

Thank you very much for your answer smoothsailing. I will do the same as you: check my Ecase every now and then during the week (not only tuesdays), because as you say we never know.

Good luck Gemmie, let's cross fingers and see if we have good news this week.

I'm glad you got a good agent today Gemmie - and that you got a reasonable answer.

We have called the CIC today, a very polite officer took our call very fast (we thought they wouldn't work today because in some provinces is holiday) and asked about our application. The officer told us that our application still processing due to that they are waiting for a response about the social services of the province where my partner is living, I guess is a similar situation that Gemmie.

He told us that we "should expect" news about our file at the end of this week, so now we need to wait again.

i do a very similar type of job to the CIC agents on the phone, one where callers are given a rough timeline of when to check back for updates on their case. there is a particular time of day when callers will be more likely to get an update. it baffles me that i am the only person in the entire office who tells people when that is. it takes me less than 10 seconds to explain it to the callers. there is no benefit to my co-workers to NOT give that information, and giving it saves the hassle of dealing with cranky people who are trying to get an update at a time when no updates are available. i'm with you - i don't understand why some make it so difficult, either. ???
