With your AOR you may or may not get the UCI but you should receive the file number (F00.......etc.) if you havnt already.

If no UCI has been issued the Sponsor wil getl the sponsors UCI when SA is accepted and received. I never did see my wife's (applicant's...they are different) UCI until I had ordered the GCMS notes.

The eCas page seems to say we can use receipt number (and 3 or 4 other types of numbers) and not just UCI number. Does this work? Since our application just arrived at Mississauga I don't expect anything there yet anyway but I keep trying.

Very few ppl have been able to work it with anything other than UCI. Also, if it has just arrived at their office, you probably won't see anything even with the UCI for a few weeks. After it is actually entered into their system, UCI will definitely work. Other options are bit of a hit and miss.

Could it also just be that people aren't updating their spreadsheet, so even though it shows Mississauga (since that's where it gets initially sent), their stage 2 is in fact Ottawa?

i am sponsoring my wife from US, i am working here in California for past 6 years.my wife is also here with me. just want to ask do we have to fill any form for paying fees? or i can do it on-line and attach the receipt? my forms are all complete will send it tomorrow hopefully if this fee issue get resolved.

You will need to pay online and attach the receipt to your application! Make sure you pay all of them to not cause any delays on your application

You can check both status using the sponsor's info and sponsor's uci (if have one).
To check only the principal applicant portion you'll use the file number and applicant's info.

Thanks a lot,one more thing i am sponsoring my wife,we have a 11 months old son too. i am not sponsoring him as he already a Us citizen and a Canadian too as i am his father is Canadian. what should my wife will write in IMM0008 form Q.3 and what will i write in IMM5481 Q.5A,do we have to include our son? we have written his name in dependents.also will this effect fees?

Follow the instructions and you will find that the total fee for yourself and wife is $1,040. Since my case didn't involve dependents I won't look into that part of your question.

I'm Hossam from Egypt my application received 29th of September they sent me msg on April 14th the said to my sponsor ( you have met the requirement for eligibility as a sponsor , Accordingly, the application for permanent Residence for your relative has been forwarded to the visa office in Cairo for further processing).
After I went the visa office they just told me your application didn't received yet , I sent msg to the immigration they answered after 2 weeks (the application for permanent residence in Canada in the Family Class category.
Due to security issues in Egypt, all Family Class case were moved to another office in Canada; if you wish to contact that office for file status, please send your enquiry to OTTPilot-immigration@cic.gc.ca.
Applications for permanent residence in Canada in the immigrant category in which applicant has applied currently require approximately 12 months, as per new standards, to process for routine cases.
Be advised that this application is processing normally within our standard processing time for Family Class)
Sorry for the long msg but I really want to know how long after should I wait .

I've been finding these forums really useful but haven't posted yet and thought I would introduce myself in this thread and follow it. I am sponsoring my US wife for PR in Canada. We just finally finished out application TODAY and sent it via courier to Mississauga! So I'll check that it was received probably constantly all day tomorrow and then I'll start the clock.
