You will be ok, the email is not something important, in the email section it say "if applicable". They will not return your application because of the wrong email address, but you may not receive your AOR. You can know the status of your application by checking the On-line (Ecas) service. But it's better to correct the mistake by sending them a letter.

Good answer by the agent, because by the end of July they have opened your application and created a file in their system for you, so they can find it in their computers easily and correct the email address, but now it is not easy for them to find your application package since they have not opened it yet! I called their call center last week, and the agent told me that they have received thousands of applications in the last two months...

Hi there,

I submitted my application for Citizenship in Apr 2015 and received File# by 24th of June. I submitted the application for my family. I did get File # only for myself and my child and not for my spouse. Is there any specific reason for not getting one for my spouse? Should I call CIC and check with them?

Any insight would be helpful.

I sent the application (self, wife and son) on 30th May by FedEx, application received on 2nd June. I guess the new rule cut off date is 11th June. I know few people who sent between 7-10 June as well. Waiting for any response from CIC. Does anyone know how many weeks before they let us know that it is under process with a file number?

This is just a guess, but since call agents are telling people to only call back after the end of July, it seems that their initial plan is to go over all the old applicants by the end of july. Just an opinion, but remember they only have 3-4 weeks left to reach June 10, as applicants that applied in the 2-3 week of May are getting AOR.

Usually cic opens the applications between 1 to 4 months after the delivery of the application at CPC Sydney and then they will check it for completeness.
Once they open the application package and if your file is complete and accepted by cic then you will get a acknowledgement of receipt by either email or postal mail

ECAS activated today for all family members with the usual 2 lines.

I am surprised as my daughter's application was sent within the same family package and she did not receive her AOR by email, though her ECAS is now active indicating that they received her application with only the first line. She's over 18 and had a separate payment receipt, all in the same family envelope with her application.

In an earlier call to CIC, the agent informed me that it was not necessary that all family members in one package received their AOR's as long as the main applicant did. Surprisingly, our 16-year old son received an AOR!
