My file reached CIC today and was signed by M K. I hope that they send me the AOR and they don't return the file for a stupid mistake.

My friend applied back in March and he received the AOR in 2 weeks only.

Best of luck to you!
% of apps return is way less than the % of people suffer with anxiety. therefore, try to avoid worrying and stay confident

I hope that will be true Would be nice to be a Canadian citizen before The holidays ☺️

Oren,
I sent my application via my lawyer, they sent it on the 28th I think that they will get it tomorrow.
I still count myself as a may applicant, cause may 28 has a special meaning to me. :P :P

I think that the last applicants for this year will be in June 2015,( all the lawyers are betting that July 1st will be the new 4/6 implementation date)which means that one year will be 0 applicants cause of the new rule, cic will have extra manpower for us. so its very logical to predict that we will have AOR/TEST/ very fast.

Oh boy... I am getting very anxious about all this. Can't we just fast forward the time to the day I get my AOR?

Relax, as soon as you have proof that your file arrived in the CIC office you are save, the AOR letter has no meaningful status.
(its my opinion, may be mr Dpenabill will know more about this)

Yes, yes... my applications was delivered and signed on May 27.

Congratulation and wellcome to Canada, did you use the residence calculator? how many physical days ?

how did you send it ?
since it always takes 2 days to NS

I used the calculator, I had 1102 days of physical presence.
I wanted to apply before the end of May, in case they decided to implement
the new rules on June 1st. Turns out I was worried for no reason,
but 1102 should still be sufficient with some room for error,
even though there should be no errors.
I checked all my dates several times - using plane tickets,
CBSA and US border records, and even Google Location History from my phone ;)

It takes 2 days with FedEx. They said that's because it's Nova Scotia, their "Overnight"
shipping takes an extra day. With Canada Post, I think the fastest was also 2 days.
I used Purolator (express envelope, with guaranteed next day delivery),
and indeed it only took 1 day (from Kitchener, Ontario).
But I can see in that spreadsheet that UPS also does overnight delivery.

Hi sjakub. What's your application type, location and courier? Nevermind you put your info :) Thanks ^_^

:D you guys make me laugh... :D

why do you guys spend so much money by sending it via FedEX etc.... and SO fast? If you are already here in Canada, it costs you 12 $ by registered mail (signature on arrival is the important thing) and it took 5 days...thats enough... lol

"So much money"? Mine was $27.
Which was less than the photos, not to mention the cost of the application itself.

How frustrated would you feel if you saved $15 only to discover that
your application arrived a day after they changed the rules?

I think sparing 4 days of uncertainty is worth the extra $15.

i personally wouldn't mind if it arrives a day later. it would be a bummer, yes. but...hey.. i'm here since 2010...it took them 2 years for my PR....its been now 5 years im here. If i would have to wait 1 more year..well...i made it the last 5 years here...so.. 1 more year doesn't change anything... it's expensive enough...and with immigration you shouldn't be in a rush...rush means (mostly) making mistakes.
Well... the only reason to be in a rush would be to be a refugee..but there are different rules.

And the fact that it arrives within 24h does not mean your file will be opened faster. nobody knows whats going on in these offices..on which pile of files we end up. some people got their file opened within 2 weeks... others in 6 weeks...same conditions (office, status etc)...

When i've sent my PR application in October 2011 (Buffalo,NY) i received my AOR in May 2012. Other Members sent it in September 2011, a month earlier, and still waited for their AOR when I already had my PR Status in October 2012 ! Why? Because they knew they would close down Buffalo, NY and boxed everything up...i got LUCKY to be transferred electronically to Ottawa...others ended up with their files (physically) boxed up and didnt see the daylight anymore a year later. You see? Immigration is an unfortunate waiting game...

I sent my Application on the 5th May...arrived in Sydney 12th May...we'll see...if they decide to open that file in August for whatever reason.. i would have spent 15$ more for something i don't have any influence. Well.. i used those 15bucks for a Pizza and an icecream. lool

So... dont take it the wrong way. We all just have to calm down in order NOT to drive ourselves crazy by checking courrier/mailing timelines. As soon as you receive the AOR things get a bit more interesting....until then... no (need to) rush. save the money and enjoy the time here... as long as it is warm...in 3 months its winter again.... looool

My fellow friends !!!!!!

With all the respect to his opinion, I would "STRONGLY" recommend for the June applicants to RUSH it, just check twice your papers that they are ok, and RUN with your Fedex/ups to send it.
Every minute counts, We strongly hope that no changes until July First 2015, but this is a wishful thinking, a good speculation only.
