Congrats ydj_dil!!! Do you have any idea why it took so long?

Now hopefully they will move on to our application! :D

No, no reasons specified. I'm just thinking my officer went on vacation and just came back. Or he finally got budget approved to hire movers to open my huge application box :P

Oooh our application was also huge - it weighed over 11 pounds when we sent it off.

Lol yeah, mine was about 15 pounds. But may be it wasn't the reason, don't worry. More than likely, my officer was on vacation and came back. I see that lot of people are getting SAs now, which is a good sign. May be more of them are coming back from vacation.

Our letter stated that they forwarded our application to Ottawa as well. As far as I know yours is supposed to go there but being that we're applying Outland in Europe it remains a mystery why they forwarded ours there vs our local VO....was almost excited for a second thinking perhaps we had the same case worker that day who decided to expedite our applications to Ottawa ;-)

Edited to add: I also didn't include an option c as I'm a Canadian citizen living abroad for some years and have no income in the meantime. We also didn't include anything financial except for a written explanation that I've been a stay at home mom abroad and my husband has been the breadwinner.... It seems that was sufficient, or else it'll come back to bit us in the arse during processing of stage 2

Nltocan, your application sent to Ottawa is definitely not normal and I personally think it's a mistake :(, did you contact them to see what's the problem? we were clarifying it earlier about the "pilot" program at Ottawa, that's how it was called before it became a fully-righted centre , US applications weren't processed there before, that's why it was a pilot program.

a canadian living abroad definitely needs to send some proof of intent of return, such as a job offer, rent agreement, a letter from your parents stating they'll support you until you're on your feet, etc.

Yeah, I sent out an email last week... Still waiting for a reply. In the meantime my ecas was updated *shrug*

We sent plenty of proof for intent to return so I'm not too worried about that, just want to get this VO business sorted out.

NDVO sends that email to everyone. If you see the New Delhi 2013 thread, many people have received the same. But anyways you can reply to the email saying you have already submitted and attach the copy of both the documents.

Just to "decision made" under sponsorship and my husbands application changed to "application received" and "Medicals received" but nothing about any addresses...which according to rocohen above no one gets their VO listed on ECAS.

Just received my SA. Now the wait game starts......

We're on day 69 with no SA. :(

For those of you who contacted your MP in order to facilitate getting answers from CIC, how did you go about doing so? Email? Calling? What did you say/write?

I've called CIC a couple of times and they confirm that our application was received on May 21st, but they say that I shouldn't know yet "based on the CIC website processing time date of May 16th". Of course, that date hasn't been updated in two weeks and plenty of people who's applications arrived after ours have received their SA. My common-law spouse is living and working in Canada (he's American and has a NAFTA work permit) so he has a UCI already, but it isn't recognized when we try to use it to login to ECAS.

So frustrating!

Any help or suggestions are appreciated!

most people report calling the MP office. It seems to be the quickest way to know if they can/will help.

CIC received our application on May 14th and we still haven't got SA yet either. ydj_dil's application was received on the 7th and just got SA yesterday with no explanation of the reason for the delay. No idea what's going on either.
