I sent mine to the Po Box 3000 so I'm hoping they have my application. I'm just worried about putting another application forward if they misplaced it coz it will take me a whole to get everything together again. Now I regret not using the courier option.

Hello Everybody

I also sent my application in may has been received by office (Hopefully everything is fine)....
can processing time be faster than 45+ days.....
does it depend on the file as well...
what do they really check in sponsorship evaluation....
will Processing time may come down near future....

Best of the best wishes to all of us......

you are quite a long way from getting your acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) and hearing about sponsorship approval (SA). CIC is currently working on applications received on/before April 4th. Currently, people from april 1 & 2 are receiving their AOR and SA. The actual processing time is actually been longer than the posted 47 days. Keep in mind, the date the application is "received" may or may not correspond with the date it was delivered. No one knows how it really works there, and the actual "received" date may be a bit later than you think.
The best way to know what dates they are working on is to go here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/inFORMation/times/perm-fc.asp

As for what they check for sponsorship approval, the 2 biggest concerns seems to be whether the sponsor has a criminal record (particularly against family members), as well as whether they have used social assistance (welfare) in the past 12 months. This does not include mat leave or EI benefits, only welfare.

You will most likely not be able to check your status in the online system called ECAS until at least receiving AOR. Even then, it's not guaranteed. The AOR will have the file and/or UCI number, and those are the numbers that work in the system. The receipt numbers do not work, even though the system suggests otherwise. For a majority of applicants, the online system does not start working until 2-3 days AFTER receiving SA. Most people get AOR & SA in email, though some have reported recently they are getting SA by regular mail. Again, CIC is a mystery, so it's never guaranteed what one person gets, the next person gets the same.

sent mine on May 25th thru Canada Post..supposed to be delivered today, but online status is still pending...hopefully it will be received by tomorrow.
Hopefully the SA time is reduced from 47 days back to 28. ..just being optimistic :)

also i can't access the May spread sheet...did someone delete it?

and thanks for fixing the link. :)

Added myself to the spreadsheet.....I have been following the April thread but I guess I'm really a May applicant.

uskyoot, welcome ;)

i changed the sheet a bit, now it shows us according to the date when the app was received. so uskyoot you're head of the list. unfortunately processing times keep going up so we still have a lot to wait :(

Hello

Got a question .... I will be able to get a little bit better employment from existing one..
is it fine if i change my employer during sponsorship evaluation at Mississauga.
or shud i stick myself with the present one...
Suggestions from everyone esp. the senior members are much appreciated

thanks

My Application package for sponsoring my spouse from India reached Missisauga after last long weekend.

I added my name to the list too for May. So anxious to see the new turnaround times updated on their website. Hopefully we can see an update tomorrow or the day after and hopefully the days will reduce down :) I'm hopeful anyway lol.

elegant.heena, it's fine if you change your employer in my opinion. there are no financial requirements for spousal sponsorship anyway.. maybe others know more about it.

yokies, they should update it today.. it's been a week. i doubt processing times will go down, though :(

thanks for having this spreadsheet. we've been working so hard at putting the stuff together.. have almost no idea what comes next! anyways i've added us to the list, we did not have our medicals done, we wrote a letter stating that we would wait until sponsor was approved. anyone think we should do this relatively soon anyways.. we were going to wait until august.

welcome cavallino. if i were you, i would do the medicals as soon as possible ... i think it will delay the process if not.

as for your photobooth photos (the other thread), i'm not sure how good that is, i hope it corresponds to what CIC wants..
