Things seem to have slowed down considerably in the new year. Perhaps there was a big push to get a lot of applications completed by the end of last year. It should be second week back from holidays now. Hopefully they will build up some momentum soon.

Agreed. I wonder whether it is like this around January every year or the introduction of EE has had an impact (which would make sense)

Katie,

They will ask you to pay Right of Permanent Resident Fee for you and any dependents on the application. Of course you have the option of paying it pre-emptively (upfront) rather than wait for their request. Once done with the RPRF you will be waiting for passport request if your application is complete.

I had paid the RPRF upfront and am still waiting on passport request. Before end of the year, based on the April 2014 applicants' status updates, it was looking like it took them about 10 days after Medical updated to request RFPR or Passport but the things have slowed down now either due to holidays or Express Entry.

I did the medical exam on 9th December, 2014 and the doctor confirmed that he has uploaded the results on 19th December 2014. But still no update on my Ecas.

Any idea?

Thank you Simon! :)
If I pay upfront and God forbid but something goes wrong and I don't get PR.. do they reimburse for RPRF?

My doctor uploaded to Emed on 20th of December and it was reflected in ECAS a few days later. I would say just keep record/forms/receipts you received from the Doctor's office with you as proof. They will most likely update it once they get out of the holiday lull. You can shoot them an email just to check on status in a week or two and to let them know that you have completed the medical (since they give you 30 days to complete it).

Yes Katie, The Right of Permanent Resident Fee is fully refundable if your application is denied. Any other fees you may have paid, like the application fees, are NOT refundable.

Please see:
Refunds will be granted in all cases where the Right of Permanent Residence Fee has been paid and the applicant has not acquired permanent resident status. Should the application for permanent residence be refused or withdrawn, the Department is obligated to refund the RPRF.

On your online application it will still say " In Process" - once you click on it - it gives you details on your application and that is where you should see the following:

1. When they received your application
2. Medicals have been received

If you are getting close to 30 days you had to submit your medical results I would suggest maybe calling or emailing CEC and checking with them to see if they received your results?

Good Luck !

Thanks.
On my Ecas when I click on In Progress only it shows that they have received my application.

I have requested to do medical on December 6th and I did it on December 9th.

Does any one has a phone number of CPC-Ottawa?

I called the CIC and they told me I have to call CPC-Ottawa but they did not provide me any phone number.
