Let's put it this way: if I am not right then how was my sponsorship approved and why was my wife's passport requested and a re-medical requested? One would think they would have sent my app back long ago or requested that parts of the app be resubmitted.

one more question mr. Sweden... In each messages do i really need to translate word per word or just the meaning of the message? it's very difficult to translate everything in english. I did the screen shot thing and copied everything in ms word.

Indeed I'm a woman, but a lot of people assume otherwise when I write, to that's not an issue!

Word by word is difficult : translate the general meaning and include an explanation that you have translated to the best of your abilities to give an idea of the meaning, but it's not a word by word translation.

Regarding the question about Principal applicant/Sponsor:

Principal applicant is the one coming to Canada and applying for PR.
Sponsor is the Canadian or the PR in the couple.

The easiest way not to get confused by the forms is to keep them separate when you fill them out. Get the checklist, and put on one side all the forms for the applicant, and on the other, all the forms for the sponsor. Makes it easier that way.

-One thing that been on my mind is, when CIC retunrs a file do you suppose they have been through the entire file and then asked for whats required?

If this is the case, is it safe for me to assume they have no other issues (apart from the one mentioned) including the fact that we had provided 3 years NOA's instead of Option c printout?

-Another doubt i have is for the country specific instructions for India

Now the case here is that i have grown up in the Gulf and till the age of 15 i studied there, which means i used to travel to India every summer vaction we had in those 15 years, after which i moved to India. Do i need to mention all those travel dates and entry and exists are stamped in my first passport.

Apart from this the only other travel i had was in 2008 when i went on a 10 day trip to malaysia.

What all do i need to mention in this form then?

- How many passport size photos do we need to send. Of both me and my spouse?

I doubt they have checked the entire file (at least not in detail). I think they would probably be focusing on the sponsorship (stage 1) part of the file. Anything missing from the stage 2 stuff they will probably ask for in stage 2. Of course if you notice anything missing this is a good opportunity to include it, since if they have to ask for it your app will be delayed.

Also if you are able to get an Option C printout this would be a good time to include it as well.

I don't know about India-specific stuff. Most of the details I have seen on the Philippines apps are usually from age 18 on. If the travel part you are asking about goes younger than 18, then I would imagine you should include it. That might be a better question to ask in the New Delhi forum though.

If I remember right we submitted 9 photos of the applicant (my wife). Though that may also vary by country.

yes, that's correct. In section A: principal applicant + the spouse (usually that's the sponsor) + applicant's parents (that's only 2 people: mother and father). Section B : children. Section C: brothers and sisters, even if they are not coming to Canada.
But it's only for the applicant. So you list the parents of the applicant, the children of the applicant, the siblings of the applicant only. The sponsor only appears in the first section as the spouse.

if you're applying outland ( which I assume you are), you can not get a work permit in advance. No need to send anything with the application. Once you are given the PR - you become a permanent resident, which means that you automatically have the right to work. Once you land in Canada as a PR, you can go the next day to any Service Canada, get your SIN ( social insurance number) and start working the next day ( the SIN is issued right away and is valid the same day, there is no added procedure for you to get a work permit etc).

If you're from a visa-exempt country, you can come to Canada on a tourist visa and wait out for your PR here, but you won't be able to work before you have your PR.
