OH GOD!!!

We sent in our NOA, instead of option c on our consultants recommendation as well!! :-X

Now what? :'(
We didn't use a consultant because family members said it was a waste of time and money. But I understand how you just wanted to make sure that the application was complete and done right. If you read the checklist though it states that you need Option C printout http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5491E.pdf it states that if you have a co-signer then send their NOA's.

I did have that in the back of my mind but since we were applying outland and my hubby was here at the time of filinf, we sent a letter along saying that we are attaching NOA's since hes not in canada at the moment and will be back end of may.

They have said that if we are not providing Option c then provide expalanation, which we have....hope they accept that atleast

Yea your best bet is to just wait and see what CIC says to regarding the NOA's and Option C printout. Keep your head don't stress too much about it. If you gave an explanation I'm pretty sure you should be ok.

Thanks Sweden & Thaliada,

I guess i will wait for sometime n then have the hubby call them.

My actual worry is for the SA as he was here with me after we filed for about 3 weeks and landed back on the 1st of june.

Also since hes there, he had to change houses so has a temp address now and phone number also changed becasue of some problem so thats gotten me more worked up, incase CIC try to contact him...they cant!!!

If we get thru this...its going to be a Miracle!!! :-[
CIC very rarely tries to contact people by phone on stage 1. Most of it is done by mail, or snail mail. AS long as he is checking the mailing address you indicated, then it should be fine.
Also - I don't know if your husband is a PR or a citizen. If he is a citizen, then it's OK that he was outside of Canada.
If he was a PR, he should have waited until being physically back in Canada to file the application.

Doesnt seem like such a smart move now....guess going for and listening to a consultant was our biggest mistake!

Guys..

My worst fear has come true. My husband recieved a letter dated the 16th of may along with the rest of our file stating that the application was incomplete.

Now i know i missed out one signature but also have so many other doubts and am surprised that CIC dint catch any of the other mistakes which i found myself.

I'm going to put down any doubt i have here, so please correct or advice me where ever wrong.

1. My husband is the PR and is sponsoring me to canada, that makes me the Pincipal Applicant and him the spouse. right?

2. If the above is correct then in the Schedule A Background/ Declaration (IMM5669) i check the Principal Applicant box and put in my details in the form, right?

3. In the Generic Application form (IMM 0008), there is Question 3. How many family members, including you, are in this application. My consultant had entered 1. Is this correct or should this be 2 ( me and my spouse)?

4. Where and how do we place the bar code pages, it was mentioned in front of the form, but is this the same case even if the bar codes appear on the signature page as well?

5. My husband had given his NOA's and they havent mentioned anything against it. Would it still be a safer bet to get and attach the Option C printout this time?

Please help me out...would like to send in my application asap and without any problems this time.

I am so sorry to hear this. However, don't give up. We will help you out as much as possible!

1. He is the main applicant sponsoring his wife (the spouse). You are the person being sponsored. Follow this link if you are filing outland: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

There you will find 2 parts: 1. Sponsorship forms - for your husband to complete and 2. Immigration forms for you to complete.

2. In Schedule A (part of YOUR forms) you check "the spouse" box. You are not the principal applicant.

3. You write only 1 person (because he is sponsoring just you)

4. I put the page with the 8 barcodes first, followed by the signature page.

5. I would definitely wait for the printout C. It takes about 7-10 days to get it tho. It is up to you. I used the printout C.

Now... the best way to organize your application is following http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-i-organized-our-applcation-and-a-summary-of-all-helpful-tips-i-have-learned-t92449.0.html . That is the way I did it, and I strongly recommend it.

I wish you the best of luck and may you will be able to have a smooth process this time :)

it's best to select messages that show consistent and continuous relationship. The officer will not read 100 pages of chats. Select a few messages a day/a week, and translate them. if possible take a screenshot to show how often you communicate and indicate that you are willing to send more if requested.
Translate everything - there is no point in sending proofs that are not in french or in english.
Sweden
one more question mr. Sweden... In each messages do i really need to translate word per word or just the meaning of the message? it's very difficult to translate everything in english. I did the screen shot thing and copied everything in ms word.

I may not have experience translating my documents, but my common sense tells me to translate the meaning of a few significant messages. If they have further questions or if they have doubts, I am sure they can ask you for further explanation.

And although it's just a guess, I think Sweden is a woman :)

Best of luck!

1. Yes, as the one being sponsored you ARE the "Principal Applicant". For instance, on Form IMM1344 they ask for "Person you are sponsoring (Principal Applicant). So unlike what someone else posted, the sponsor is NOT the principal applicant.

2. Yes

3. 1 is correct, just you.

4. The bar code pages are numbered "4 of 5" and "5 of 5". Just keep everything in the order it is given (or in the case of the checklist, the order it is specified).

5. Option C is the best bet always if you can get one.

I am sorry, but I disagree... the sponsor is the principal applicant. You are the sponsored person. My opinion and the way I did it. A 3rd opinion will decide.

Edit: I did read the IMM 1344 and yes it did say (principal applicant). However, your husband - the sponsor - has to complete the forms under Part 1 and you - as the sponsored person - in Part 2. Look at the forms from his point of view (part 1) and from your point of view (part 2). You are the principal applicant under part 2 - but regarding your question, you are the spouse of the principal applicant. Now I find it confusing too...
