Anyone in the forum who applied in May, 2013?

My timeline:
Application delivered to Sydney, NS: May 28, 2013
Call Center update on July 23, 2013: CIC is mailing acknowledgements for applications received on April 23, 2013. So, at least one more month to receive the acknowledgement letter.

Excited 8) as well as getting prepared (mentally) for RQ(s) :o. I went back home once for more than 2 months which makes me eligible :P for a RQ.

I am not sure that a single trip to home country that lasted two months is an automatic cause for RQ. Did you have any other travel?
Also, we already have a thread for May/June 2013 applicants: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/may-and-june-2013-applicants-t148821.0.html

Just one travel to home country in last three years. Hoping not to receive any RQ, but mentally prepared to face one just in case of a worst case scenario.

I noticed the thread for May and June together, but I believe individual thread for individual month will be beneficial in many ways in the coming months.

Hi everyone,

Here's my timeline:

Mailed application - 30 April 13
Application received by CIC - 3 May 13
Sent acknowledgement letter - 3 May 13
Started processing application - 19 July 13

I had three trips (two to my home country and one to the US) totalling around 8 months altogether. Does this mean that I'll get RQ(s)?

@ farhad-: Have you already received the acknowledgement letter? Because, as far as my understanding CIC takes around 3 months from the date of application receipt to issue the acknowledgement letter.

Based on your travel history, you have more chances to get a RQ. But, always hope for the best.

Good luck and welcome to our same journey.

Reading those replies about RQ based on the travel history in/out Canada. I travel due to work and vacation. I do enjoy my time spending overseas when I am on vacation.

If we travel outside the country, does that mean that we will get RQ?

It is our legal right to travel and noone can legally stop that.

@NSBoy902: Traveling is absolutely legal. CIC says, it is applicant's responsibility to prove that he/she stayed at least 1095 days in Canada before seeking citizenship. CIC officer may request for RQ if there is not enough evidence of your 1095 days stay in Canada because of excessive travel for longer duration and/or without proper reason(s).
