Called CIC on Friday and was informed that my test date has been scheduled for May 28 at Kitchener, ON. The letter was posted on Thurs May 7, so I still havent got it yet. ECAS hasnt been updated as well. If all goes well, I'm hoping for a Canada Day Oath !

Farrous, congrats, we seem to be travelling along the same timeline! Has your ECAS been updated?

Congrats coolblues1980. My ecas was updated that Friday (the 9th). When I first checked in the morning, I had no update. Later in the afternoon after I got the letter, I double checked and it was updated. A Canada Day oath would be amazing. Keep me updated.

I'm trying to map all the passport stamps to my residence calculator and there are a couple of items with no stamps (both US visits crossing via land). There is no record in the US CBP or CBSA reports either of the entry/exit. Is this a problem?

Better to be honest and call it out.

I have already mentioned it in the Online residence calculator which I'm thinking they will use to verify after the test. Anyway, its just 1 entry and I found my hotel receipt for this stay. I'll just show them that.

oh coolblues1980!

I can't believe what I just noticed! I was checking every stamp on my passport and gosh I realized the following:

1- I landed on Sep 4, 2010 by land (I was already in Canada). Right after, that day I went to the US with my wife (by car) and came back on the 5th. I did not declare that date :-X :-X :-X :-[ :'(. I am not sure if the CIC has noticed that on the CBSA report. I will notify the agent when I have the interview. Any ideas how I should go around the topic?

2- I have an exit stamp from Country X on the 1st of Jan 2012 and a Canadian entry stamp on the 2nd of Jan. I believe I flew overnight on couple of occasions. The date I used on the Residence calculator is 1st of Jan. Would that be a big deal?

Aside from that I am off to study over the next couple of days. But on the GCMS report, I have flagged A5. I believe this has something to do with my missed date. Ayayay! Overall I have 1128 physical presence days. I am not sure if the CIC takes into account human errors without an RQ.

Hi Farrous,

The CIC Website states:

When calculating an absence, either the day you leave Canada or the day you return is considered an absence, but not both. For example, an absence between July 1, 2003 and July 15, 2003 equals 14 days of absence.
If you leave Canada and come back the same day, you do not have to declare an absence.

So you may be OK I Think. Plus you have a good buffer for any missed dates.

Where do you see the A5 status on the GCMS notes?

Hi Farrous,
I think you will be fine. When the immigration officer was going over my application she asked me to make some changes in my application where i was unemployed. She asked me to put 'I was searching for employment' instead so since you have a buffer you will be fine. Everyone can make a mistake. Say if you have 1097 days or so then you might have been sent to the judge. I wouldn't worry. Just be honest and tell the immigration officer of your mistake. Good luck on the test and congrats on the baby!

Hi gang!

Chatted with an agent a few minutes ago. My file is finally updated with test results and comments, and has been moved back to the Scarborough office for RQ review. Agent said it should take between 2 - 6 months to schedule my Oath. I let them know that I would be out of town from May 30-June 8th in case they suggested a date for the oath during that time.

Looks like the files are finally moving. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

Cheers,

Kenyadian

Hi coolblues1980,
Thanks. The residence calculator takes that day into account. So overall I am missing 3 days because of this mistake and 1 day that I forgot to declare. Silly me! I will explain that to the agent.

When I ordered my GCMS notes, I have under the NOTES section a note tagged by Flagged A5. I believe it has something to do with the above missing day(s). Probably that's why my application took longer than the other applicantions from Montreal.

hi Dejaavu. Thank you :)
I hope the agent will be as nice as the one you encountered. I have a 33 day buffer and I am missing 4 days on my Residence Calculator (3 because of stamp dates and 1 date that I forgot to declare). I am worried that the agent might think I am dishonest and issue an RQ. But then, the CIC might have known all along and that's why there was a delay in my application. I will do my best to explain the situation. I made a summary and I have an explanation for every single stamp on my passport. I do admit however, my passport is a mess, Visas everywhere, some expired some not along with messy scattered stamps like slushy snow.
Enjoy the rest of your day. :)
