Guys,

few weeks ago I remember one of the member asking us if the received line disappearing meant something.

I told him nothing, but it turned out that he got RQ.

Since chandu007's received line too disappeared, i wonder if thats a sign of RQ. chandu007 got rq as well

any thoughts?

Just coincidence. Many people who had their "Received" line disappeared never received RQ after.

I don't think that the "Received" row just disappears for no reason. It states online that if the application is in Process then the file has been transferred to the nearest CIC office. I am not sure if this still applies.

I don't think it has anything to do with the RQ.

what do you mean by "Nothing was mentioned in the letter". No request for documents was worded? Does it just say that they will request more info and they will be in touch?

Let us know chandu007.

Nothing mentioned in the letter. I will send as per the questions and instructions. Initially, I only provided docs that CIC asked for, not a single doc more.

That definition of 'In process' (on CIC's website) is outdated. It used to mean transfer to local office and came at a later stage in the game. Today the 'in process' status comes into play once the file has been opened and checked for completeness at Sydney i.e AOR time.

Maybe touché. But I am not sure if it's outdated. I am talking about the "In Process" link that we press when we want to check our application status and not the sentence "You application is in process....". Can you confirm it's outdated? I know the CIC makes mistakes here and there especially with the dates they post (as in my case). I seems weird that my "Received" and someone else's has disappeared over this past weekend. It has to mean something or the CIC is playing with our nerves...hehe 8)

In our case this line had disappeared two months before our file was transferred to the local office.

Yes, that's the 'In process' I am referring to. It definitely does not coincide with transfer to local office since it comes into play when they send out the AOR. In summary, that definition is either outdated or just plain incorrect (in my opinion). With regards the disappearance of 'Received', I have no clue what it means or if it means anything. Different people have noticed it disappear at various stages (AOR, file transfer,RQ) so I'd rather not even speculate.

Got RQ today. It's issued from Sydney, asked to submit to Ottawa. Don't understand why since my local office should be Scarborough.

Sorry to hear this chandu007. Best of luck and keep us updated.

Yes, no request for documents was worded. Asked to complete and send the RQ with supporting docs.

Is the RQ request and/or transfer to local office indicated in the e-case online page?
Would calling CIC reveal more info about the status of the application vs. checking online?

Sorry to hear about RQ. Best of luck for rest of the process. I havent got anything yet since my application was initiated exactly one month later than you. So, i am keeping my fingers crossed.

My "Received" line was disappeared 7-10 days after eCAS was initiated. It's already over a month and i havent got RQ.

  • AOR = Acknowledgement of Receipt
  • LOT = Local Office Transfer
  • RQ = Residence Questionnaire

My file is not transferred to local office yet. Also, no status change on e-cas.
