That depends what you mean by "soon", we have been 'In Process' for 7 weeks now . . . (albeit within that time we received PPR).

So I've just hated things... I sent things in May, they were returned after not being opened for almost 4 months for missing forms (the forms were updated with immigration in July.. if they had opened the package before that, it'd be fine).. well financial and other issues have kept us from being able to send it back until today. 7-8 months from when I got my US FBI check, and photos. I sent the package anyway with that info with a letter explaining how it was almost 6 months before I got my package back.. Problem with this is that they didn't log me as having my information in in May.. they just sent my stuff back messy and with some torn papers. There is no record (other than paid fees receipts) that I've had anything in with them.

So now I need my info changed to Jan 2nd, 2013 sent ... needless to say this is why you guys haven't heard from me. I'm starting over. :(

Wonder what the odds are they will overlook the outdated photos/FBI record. (photos match the medicals so I didn't want to update them) I added an extra folder to the batch I sent in to give them some updated proof (new lease we've signed, some more photos since May, Facebook entries, gift receipts)

I'm so ready for this to be over with.. most of the May applicants have already landed. I just want to get done with this so I can have children :(

Thank you for your advice, this forum is so helpful and supportive. I have not decided whether to let him stay, so he can get a job and pay child support (plus see his children for their sake, not his), or whether we should all just go back to the states. I see a lawyer next week, so that should help with my dilemma. Thanks again and happy new year!

Sorry to hear what happened to you. Technically speaking, there is a material change in your marital status, even if you do not withdraw your sponsorship, he is no longer qualified for this application. Well, of course, it is if he is truthful at landing process. And once he becomes a PR, you still have to be responsible for his finance in case of hardship.

Only 7 have landed. Many of us have not even gone to "in process".
I feel for you. The May group seems to have gotten the worst service. Many lost documents. Longest wait times. At least 1 July applicant has landed.

Yeah, they updated all the forms in July and then they just did it in December that's why we got such a bad deal if we waited for 2 months or more :( It's bogus. Well hopefully Jan 2013 will be a lucky group cause I'm the first.

It looks like wait times for stage one are now less than half of what they were in May. I hope this second time around works out more favourably.

Yes and since we applied the wait times in Manila have increased by 2 months.

Good luck with your new application Kiri. It sucks waiting to start your life and your family.

Just wanted to update the spreadsheet that my spouse got his PPR today and it was sent off this afternoon :)

WAHOO :)

Just wanted to let you know that my wife has landed on December 10... the only issue was that she had to wait for 3 hours at the immigration to get her paperwork done... so stressful and aggravating after 13-hr flight... the process itself was finished in 5 mins, and she's getting used to Canada as we speak...

Good luck to you all!!! And if you have any questions, feel free to PM me. This forum has provided a great deal of support for me throughout this ordeal.

Cheers!! ;D

just one question guys...

I am going to book my ticket till Monday for 22 Feb

I have to book a round trip ticket as one way ticket is too expensive

The question is: as long as I am entering Canada with COPR on hand can I book the return ticket with a date 6-8 months later or do I have to issue it with a return date max of 3 months?

Of course I won't use the return ticket the first 3 months... but if I book a date after 8 months then paying a penalty (150-180 euros) I could change the date in case I need to travel later in the year.

Not that it matters, but for spreadsheet purposes, I did land on 12-17. The actual process of landing was so incredibly easy it didn't feel right. We're driving my car up from the states this week, so that should be fun. Best of luck to you all.

When entering as a resident you should not be asked for a return ticket so you should not worry about that (whether you have a return ticket or whether your return date is for 1 week or for 6 months later is unconsequential). However, some airlines will not allow you to board a plane bound onto Canada if you do not have a return/onward ticket or if you cannot prove that you hold a visa for Canada that does not require a return/onward ticket). Your COPR should be proof enough for the airline.

Thanks cempjwi
