Does anyone know what the percentages are for lost applications? I am on day 91 with no word.

I sit here and read others getting their AOR who applied weeks after me. I tried to call CIC but all I get is disconnected. No wonder they have to include the "aggressive behaviour" lecture. They bring it on themselves.

CanadianJeepGuy.....seems that CIC is reverting back to it's winter ways..... :'( they very rarely and I mean rarely lose a file......most of feb and part of march all waited over 100 days me included....so you will have to be patient a little longer....I know it sucks....but hang in there... :)

This may have been answered elsewhere... but as I am a US Citizen, and the US is a Visa exempt country will CIC request my Passport?

Nice to see that you are in such a chipper mood!

And, thanks! :D

Come on CIC send out more approvals today and please let one be for me!!! :D please!

for the sake of informing people and to help people better understand CIC i'll give an update of my status:

we received the email approving the sponsor this morning.

Logging on ecas:

1. with sponsor UCI (just assigned) and sponsor details :

nothing. I mean it. nothing. the only think you can select is the box saying that you DONT want to be able to view ecas. of course i wouldn't select that. maybe it needs time.

2. with file number and principal applicants details:

it recognizes the name and it says application received. the date on which it says application received is May 8 so it is the date Mississauga got the papers, not the VO. no medicals received or anything else even though the medicals were done 20 days before we submitted the application on april 18, 2012 and they were supposed to be sent directly to Paris.

CIC has no trouble taking your money the same week you send in your application. Processing the application is another matter entirely....

Me too I haven't heard a word from them except that when I phoned them they said they just opened my package on Friday. A lot of people after me now have been getting email approvals and I haven't had any communication from them. You should phone them again tomorrow until you get through! That's the only way I got information.

I have tried to phone CIC more than a dozen times. After listening to all the pre-recorded prompts the phone rings and then tells me all agents are currently busy please try again later....

At least you know they have your file and are reviewing it. That is much better than not knowing at all. There is no consistency; no formulae to help one's expectations here. Some people get an email, some get a letter. There should be an email sent out to each application as it is received not when it gets opened 3,4,5 or more months after the fact. They intentionally solicit your email address. Why?
I am completely stressed out by this process and I am not one who gets stressed. I work for the government and know full well if there was a better way to do something they would't do it.
