Submitted my application on May 5th, received in Ontario on May 10th and received an e-mail on August 8th stating that my application has been received and they have provided me with my UCI number and application number. Any idea on how long after this e-mail is sent that I'll be notified of approval? I tried to log-in to check my status but it says:

We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. There could be three possible reasons:
•Please be sure the information you entered is correct and then try again.
•This service is only available to clients with applications in process. We may have received your application but not yet begun processing it. The following link may help you determine if your application is being processed:
Application Processing Times

Thoughts? Guessing more patience is the key on this one...

My ECAS is showing my lawyers address...

do I have to change it to my India address? or it is not required...

Where will VO ND send back the passport?

Ecas doesn't get updated right away, so you might have to wait for a few days.
AOR and approval can be anywhere from one day part, to up to 2 weeks, and there is really nothing to do about it. Hope yours comes quickly, but it's good news - you are in the system, your application has been opened... a little more waiting and stage 1 should be over soon!

I guess I have just stopped waiting. It doesn't matter when it comes for me, now that its already delayed so much.

Does CIC have a certain time that they update their website?? I know updates are on Wednesdays so today but i'm just wondering if anyone has seen a pattern of the time that they update.. this is just getting annoying waiting and waiting...

This may have been answered elsewhere... but as I am a US Citizen, and the US is a Visa exempt country will CIC request my Passport?
