Thanks pinklady - outstanding work on the spreadsheet too, well done.

So, the shortest is 74 days! That's actually kind of scary, as I've been telling everyone in my office that it'll be at least six or seven months. I guess the 8 months they're quoting on the CIC website is about managing expectations. Exciting times....!

Cheers,
Chris

Average time from filing at mississauga to the PPR is 107 at the mo, about 3.5 months, so not bad really!
Mine was 2.5 months total, the 74 days you see there was me :)
I guess i got really lucky!! But then I did have to wait almost 6 weeks to get my passport back, that was awful!!
It's good to have the whole process over with though.

Best of luck to you, and if you have questions, feel free to ask :)

Me and my wife are applying inland so, its gonna be a huge wait for us (HOPE NOT TO LONG).

Take a nice comfortable chair and let the waiting game began.

Good luck to all of us.

How exciting! Although many people on this thread would agree the waiting after you submit is agonising! And i just don't know what to do with my time now that I don't have the application to work on...

I agree hheather.
I spent all my time before working on the application.
Now I have so much time it feels like an eternity.
The wait is killing me, and I live with my partner, i feel for all of you who are seperated from your partners.
Best of luck to all and let the wait.... continue.... ::)

I'm American and my husband's Moroccan and Canadian. He had to do the same affair with immigration (well, minus the family sponsorship bit) when he was applying from France where he was studying for PR in Canada. Yes, indeed a sense of accomplishment which soon gives way to feelings of self-doubt (at least in my experience), plus all the waiting and wondering. And decoding acronyms. I'm applying outland but currently living with him.

Thank you!!

I am Canadian and my husband is Moroccan. We are applying outland and Rabat will be the office the application ends up at.

I took forever putting together the application and it is weird how great a sense of accomplishment it is but at the same time it's like a whole new kinda anxiousness...LOL

Are you applying in or out?

AOR is acknowledgement of receipt. What I do when I need a refresher on the acronyms is find any posting by Leon (as he has this legend in his signature). Or I think there's a more lengthy immigration terms post somewhere on the forum.

So now that I have actually sent the application I am ready to ask these questions. Can someone please explain all the short forms I see.

AOR for example.

I am sure lots of others have asked so sorry for the duplicate but I am sure if I don't know there are others too ;D

Thanks, Darque. I suspect that Buffalo is the slowest of these Visa offices, everything else being equal. :-\

Hi pinklady - can you confirm that when it came through you had until the expiry of your medical to land in Canada? If so, that would have been a whopping 7 months?! This would be great if the window is this large as it would give me time to find a job in Canada before having to hand in my notice here in the UK.

Thank you!! This is great.

I did want to let you know that I sent it on May 17 but confirmation of receipt on Canada Post web site is actually May 19 :)

And the wait begins. 8)

Hi Chris- I asked the same question some time ago and was told you have to land in Canada by one year after your medical or by passport expiry, whichever is soonest.

I am a May applicant too..

CPC-M received our application on May 18th... I don't wanna think about and linger about waiting although I am hoping. The waiting period is so agonizing and frustrating at times. but i decided to just live one day at a time maybe because I am with my husband here in Canada so it is not as much of a suffering to wait as compared to those who live far from their special-half.

It is good thing to know though that there are lots of May applicants here... I thought it will be just me lol.

Let us get and give off encouragement with one another and make the waiting fun and of course... let us all ENJOY THE JOURNEY...

Congrats on the app...

You are so very lucky to be with your spouse. I had to wait 15 months inbetween visits to get married. Now we are apart again because though each of us work we want to save as much money as possible in the mean time instead of him not being able to work here.

It is crazy hard to be apart but we figure we did it once before we can do it again because in the end we will be together the rest of our lives and it will be worth it :D

Best wishes to you!
