Did WES ask you for your Bachelors degree transcripts? I have a Masters from the US too and I only sent my Masters transcript. WES evaluated my equivalence as a Masters degree. No mention was made of my degree in India.

If they've evaluated your Masters and not asked for Bachelors, you're good to go.

I know. I'm not the one asking here. ;D

You can go ahead with your Masters evaluation. I think I read that you can edit your order at a later stage to add another degree for evaluation. Double check this on WES website.

I might be misunderstanding this, but would i really need to edit my order? I am not asking WES to evaluate my bachelor's degree. Possibility is that they might need my bachelor's degree transcripts to evaluate my master's degree, in that case I should not be required to update the order, just providing additional documentation (bachelor's degree transcripts) should suffice. Right ???

Yes, just order for evaluation of your Masters degree.

Another follow up query would be, since it costs the same , if i do decide to edit my order and get my bachelor's evaluated aswell ( as i am assuming as it is i need to send Bachelor;s), would i need to submit the bachelor's transcripts later on at any stage aswell to CIC ? Also would it make sense to do that, since if thats the case, then i would need to get another copy of bachelor's transcripts for my use aswell?

CIC does not need any transcripts. It just needs a copy of diploma/degree and ECA report.

I've a Masters from UK too but I sent my Bachelors for evaluation as well because I didn't want the risk unnecessary delays.

Someone I know sent only his Masters and after 3 weeks WES asked for his Bachelors. He received his ECA after 2.5 months. It was insane. I didn't want to go through a similar headache so I sent both my degrees.

you did a good thing but I only sent my Masters and WES didn't ask for my bachelors

CIC cares about the Highest Degree.

What I have observed on this forum is that for many people, WES has evaluated their Masters degree to be a Canadian Bachelor's equivalency. Specially from Asian countries. So if you just send your Masters degree, and WES evaluate it to be a Bachelors, you will get points for 1 Bachelor degree only. Whereas, if you send your Bachelors degree too, you will have points for 2 degrees of more.

Also, In India, some of the Bachelors degrees are a 3 years course. If you have a Masters degree after a 3 years Bachelors degree, in that case WES specifically asks to send both the degrees.

I also had the same opinion until I read the following paragraph

"Depending on your case, you may want to have both your secondary and post-secondary credentials assessed, and not just your highest completed foreign credential. You will not get any points for your foreign education under the CRS in Express Entry or be eligible under the FSWP if the result on your ECA report does not match at least one of the results in the conversion table."

I guess it all depends on the nature of your degree and where you obtained it from.

If WES is convinced about your Masters they may not want to look at your Bachelors.

It also seems to me that they have different rules for different countries.

I am sending both Bachelors and MBA transcripts.

They have clearly mentioned on their website For all applicants submitting a Master’s Degree or PGDip earned on top of a three year Bachelor’s Degree (12+3+2) for evaluation, WES requires that you provide your Bachelor’s degree documents, otherwise WES cannot complete the evaluation.

Why take a chance and delay your evaluation.

WES tends to evaluate Asian degress unfairly. An Asian masters is often considere as a post grad diploma and the applicant cant claim points for masters

Asian degrees get a raw deal from WES unfortunately. For Asian degrees, you are expected to send your degree as well as the Masters. In my case I only sent my Masters since mine was from the UK. I got a masters equivalent from WES. But I know many from India do not get a masters equivalent from WES.
