Parker, it's funny that you mention what's going on with you. I logged into My Account and it shows that my HST credit that I will be receiving on July 5th will be $4.50. They took off the "debt" that I "owed" them. I wrote another email to the minion and so far, no response. I initially started this on April 10th with all the correct information they requested, plus stuff they didn't even require. The part that bugs me is that in the initial letters I received from the individual benefits (pink or green CCTB and HST letters), they had ONLY requested that I submit his 2010 world income...thats it, yet it's come to this?! I was told that I would be receiving a manual cheque dated June 20th for the amount that is owed to me, but I think the minion is blowing smoke up my ass. I like KJG's comment on incompetence. It's food for thought.

*groan* CRA sent me ANOTHER letter asking for confirmation of my marriage and my spouses income.
You would think sending them this information 6 times would be enough, but nooooo...

I would mail AND fax it. I had to do that and they FINALLY sent me a letter saying that my spouse isn't eligible to be added onto my taxes.. REALLY?! You don't say... ::)

In any case, I didn't get the GST, but will be getting SOME of the OTB, 60ish dollars as I still owe 27 which they will take off OTB. Thank goodness! I was getting SICK and tired of signing on and seeing that I "owe" the government *grumble*

yes...after 5 month long months...CRA has decided...yes I am married...and yes I still qualify for CTB.....150 phone calls......10 gazillion forms.......CTB cheque.....priceless :P

Congrats KJG! It's good to know someone's getting some results. I'm still waiting. CRA has moved some things around on "My Account" and has again, sent me letters stating that I owe everything. I did get $4.50 for HST. They calculated my 2012-2013 payments and had taken what I "owed" off of this July payment. My Husband has gotten back a Notice of Assessment a few weeks ago. CRA is about as slow as CIC! I'm hoping I'll get something by August. It's been since April 10th when I first submitted everything. Even with "help" from an MP, they're as slow as molasses!

WOW I'm sorry to her you guys are having such hard times.... I read this post a few months ago as we had just started the process we were married April 7th and he changed his status online the following week. He (Canadian) received his cctb in April we never received anything from them, he checked like the week before online and saw it wasn't processing for May so the next day I called, the lady informed me(American non-resident) that we needed to send in a written letter stating names, sin, world income for me blah blah sent it out that day within a week got a call from CRA lady saying she received our letter could I resend the letter with copy of PP photo page copy of visitor record so faxed it out next day, 2 weeks passed I called her asking if she had received my fax she informed me that she had to obtain a temporary taxation number (TTN) for me and that she had mailed it out to me and that she had also sent me a letter of presumption, as the woman in the household receives the cctb credit. that day I got the TTN and letter of presumption.... I signed the letter mailed it in (so that if for some reason I couldn't get an extention we wouldn't go thru this again) and in June he got notice that he would have the 3 months payment on July 20th. when checking status online it is showing direct deposit processing so keeping fingers crossed it was as easy as it has been... I really can't complain bout the way our case was handled... just for the record we went thru the Summerside tax centre PEI. GL to you guys who are still waiting!! waiting just sucks!

MORE TROUBLES!

I'm about to explode. They send me a letter, three pages. I open it and what do they need? "Your spouse or common-law's name and SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBER" Are you SERIOUS!? Then later in the SAME letter on the SAME page "We based this on your income only because your spouse is not eligible" NO KIDDING!

OMG! So I call, and they now want the entire application (copy of) PLUS a letter stating how much hubby made in the US and stating WHY we're sending the application to them. I wanted to put "Because you're a bunch of idiots who can't tell that someone isn't a citizen"

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH CRA you are a pain in my ---

You'd think with all the Immigration going on in this country that they'd be able to get this process right. I hear and feel your frustration Parker, I've been at it for almost 4 months now WITH "help" from an MP.

It's annoying as hell! Since April I've had this issue and My accountant was dumbfounded when I talked to him. He said they should have KNOWN that he doesn't have a SIN. He thinks they believe since he's in Canada, that he should have a SIN. Well NO he don't!

I just finished photocopying the application, I can hear some trees screaming and crying in the distance :( I"M SORRY TREES!!! LOL

I really wanna kno they are giving u such a hard time! How frustrating! I didnt experience any of this! I'm so sorry you are going through this crap. I would call them and ask to speak to a superior until you got thru to someone who can really look into your file at whats the issue.

Huzzah! I think they pulled their heads out of their asses! WOOT!

The "overpayment" is gone, and apparently I'm getting the GST that I missed in July, in August. Very nice. Sadly, my OTB went down because my accountant added hubby to it, which he can't do since he's American and all. So I only get 22 dollars a month. Oh well, I'm still not able to work so it's nice to have something haha.

I will admit, all this hassle over NOTHING is annoying as hell. I hope you guys got it all sorted out soon! Maybe sending a copy of the application did the trick!

glad to hear you are done with that! I'm sure you are over the moon! we got our CCTB this month plus the last 2 months and then ended up with a letter saying we owed 400 for OSTC and that they needed my 2009 world income never once did they ask me for 2009 or I would have sent it with 2010 n 2011 duh! anyways that was Monday, I mailed it Tuesday, and Friday the 400 dollars was gone and what they took was credited... I don't understand why you had such a hard time... I figured it was quick cus we just did it all with the CCTB n it was just a matter of adding 2009 into the system. may I ask what tax center you dealt with? *knocking on wood n hoping to never have to deal with the one you did*

And here's to hoping everyone else gets thru the process quickly!

yea strange we are in K-W and we dealt with Sunnyside. you mean you went thru all that and you still don't atleast have a temporary taxation number (TTN)?
