Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any sample Letter of Explanation for Married, spouse non accompanying?
Can I mention reason of low CRS point in LOE?
I saw mixed reviews from different peple.

You don't need any letter, it's your call to include your spouse as accompanying in your application or not.

Few candidates pointed out that IRCC will ask the reason behind spouse non accompanying. My spouse is in Canada on PGWP (valid till Jun 2026).

It's very unlikely. All you have to do is to declare your spouse whether non accompanying or accompanying. They don't care. And you can change that anytime for no reason before you get a PR. But your score will be recalculated.

After the PR, you can only sponsor a spouse.

I received my PR invitation on July 15th. On the advice of a friend, I applied only for myself and indicated that my spouse and child would not accompany me. They are currently in Canada with me but are not interested in staying.

The problem is that when I tried to submit my application today, I realized that a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) for my spouse is required. I plan to initiate her PCC first thing in the morning, but I have only 20 days left to submit my application.

Could you please advise if I should include a detailed explanation for why I missed this requirement and submit the application on the 20th day? I understand that my wife's PCC will likely take at least 30 days to process. Do you think IRCC would consider my situation, or is there a risk they might reject the application?

For context, I am applying under the CEC category and have all other documents ready.

What about medical exam? They are asking for medical exam as well apart from pcc. Are you gonna provide it or write an explanation letter?

You can try writing an explanation letter. But according to wording on IRCC website they accept it in very rare cases.
If you can’t get a police certificate in time
If you’re invited to apply, you have 60 days to submit your application for permanent residence. If you do not have all your police certificates by the 60-day deadline, you have 2 options:

Option 1: Decline your invitation to apply
Your profile will go back in the pool. Depending on your score, you may be invited to apply again.

Option 2: Prove you applied for the police certificate
In very rare cases, we may accept both a letter of explanation and proof that shows you made your best effort to get a police certificate on time. (For example, you applied in the first week after we invited you to apply, but it did not arrive within the 60-day timeframe).

You can upload this in the country-specific police certificate field of your document checklist. Examples of proof:

a confirmation receipt
a payment receipt
a delivery notice
a tracking number
An officer will review your application. If they’re not satisfied that you made your best effort, your application may be rejected for being incomplete.
