Yes it is doable, its just in the Phillippines that you cannot marry. Send all the forms required in HK and they will advise if your missing something you. You need 2 witnesses in your ceremony.

Yes, they can even provide 2 witnesses for the marriage.

Too bad this thread started a long time ago. I think Paula211 on the first page has the same situation as me but I think they got married in Hong Kong. She is just asking about the immigration procedures.

Thanks Louman64.

Hi Kaibigan! I’m back! Asking for more questions.

Yay! Hong Kong is a success for us! We got married last week

I will start my spousal sponsorship with dependent soon. I’m still a permanent residence. Should we submit our application in Mississauga or the country (Manila) where my wife and our daughter will be coming from?

It’s been a long time since I did my immigration process. Correct me if i’m wrong, is there an online application now? Or is it still paper based?

I’m still confused right now, if anyone can point me on the right direction aside from kaibigan..

Thanks in advance.

Where you send it is always in Canada - start with the instructions.

There is an online. It's a pilot. I wouldn't recommend for those that are not comfortable just figuring things out by searching, as there are ambiguities.

Thanks Armoured and Kaibigan!

We will just do the paper based.

I’ve been reading and rereading all the stuff in the ircc.

I am based in GTA, Ontario, where do I send the completed application form and requirements?

Also for the requirements? Do I have to attached the originals or just photocopies is enough? Because if I remember correctly back in 2013 we submitted some original copies and they send it back to us sometime after I came to Canada.

Thanks again guys for your help.

You really need to read the instructions. Again.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/spouse-partner-children/apply.html

This has links to mailing instructions.

Likewise, the instructions do say where/if originals vs photocopies.

Yes, you are correct about the originals and photocopies.

We are in the process of gathering everything right now it's just that the mailing address is a bit confusing for me. I understand 2 out of those four option does not apply to us. But the other 2 is what confuses me. I just want to make sure I will be sending it to the correct address.

If it will help in understanding our circumstance, I will be living in Canada and will sponsor my spouse with dependent child from Manila.

Thanks in advance.

There are only two options, Sydney or Mississauga. At each place there is a street address or a Po box, depending on how you send it.

Just to be clear, I'm not being rude - I mean you REALLY need to read the instructions and know what's going on there. You have to sign the app, and know what's in there.

Of course there are parts you will want to clarify, but you need to ask those questions when you've already read it.

It's very important to read the guide, the instructions in the form and in the guide and the document check list. Read them multiple times because there is so much details in them. It's hard for us to cover all those in a reply.

You are welcome to ask if you have specific question on a certain section/field of a form.

Hi there. Can we sign and date the forms now for spouse sponsorship but send/submit it in a later date? For example sign today but submit it next month? I'm still in the Philippines right now but will go back to Canada next month hence the later date. Thanks in advance.

The information on the forms need to be true as of the date you sign it. So yes, you can send it later but make sure the information is correct as dated.
