Hi guys,

My fiance and will get married in 2 weeks and we're trying to figure out the PR process after that.
Once of the obstacles we face is the complex marriage legalization process in Indonesia.

Suppose we got married, and they give us the book of marriage, what do we need to do after that to legalize the marriage?
Ifsomeoen can list and explain the steps it'd be greatly appreciated.

The next important question:Eventually we have to provide a document proving the marriage in the PR application, if the marriage took place in Canada that would be the marriage certificate issued by the province. What would that document be here in Indonesia?

Thank you!

You don't need to legalize a marriage other than follow domestoc requirements, which it seems includes registering it with the civil registry. You get the marriage certificate (whatever it may be called), and if it's not in English, get that translated and the copy notarized. If ypi don't know how, take it to a notary or translator and say you need certified translation with notarized copy of original. Say it's for the embassy, they'll know how.

Don't know Indonesian specifics but quick online check indicates not that different from other jurisdictions.
