hi guys,

This is regarding my cousin. She got her register marriage done in Bangladesh but not sure if she is going to do the dissolution of the marriage. In this case what has to be entered in the form, marital status ie..whether married or single etc...The question implies two factors;

1. if she enters single...and eventually if she is going to continue her marriage with him...then she cant apply for his PR eventually bcz her marriage has taken place before. (single status on her application wont correspond to her marriage date on the certificate).

2. If she enters status married....and eventually if she is going to be separated , during the processing time...can she stop his application? And in the future can she add the name of the person to whom she gets married again?

Experts plz advise....

They would have to truthfully answer this question. If they are married at this point in time, they would have to state that fact in their application.

Asivad is right.

The person needs to be truthful to avoid misrepresenting themselves. CIC knows that people's status change from time to time and they have requested you contact them if something like your situation occurs.

It's better to do it the right way - declare the status now and inform them if anything changes
