Ive got 2 open wp myself. Coz first one sent a wrong passport with sooner expiry date then i applied again with my new passport after I received my first one.
My 3 friends got closed and the other one has open. Now im still waiting for my other friends wp. They submitted last feb. Yeah i think best way is to reapply or go to border with proper docs.

Hey Pinoybrat - How did you get an open work permit?

Stacnor - I'm from Australia, currently in BC and I just took the letter that I got through BC PNP telling them I am able to get a new visa to the boarder along with my job offer letter and they gave me a one year closed visa, was really easy. Not sure if the rules are different for each province..?

I am also 22 April applicant with my spouse in India.I today received passport request.

Congratulations! AOR of April 22nd here as well. No IP yet. Just application received on ecas. I feel it really depends on the officer processing your applications. Somehow me and several others with our timeline have "Application Received" in ecas, not even IP and I have a strong feeling that the case processing speed is dependant upon who is really processing your file. Good luck to others waiting for PPR. I hope some officers process the applications as efficiently as some others do.

Well . I am here again ranting about how upset I am. March 21st applicant.. No news after decision made.. The call centre people just want me to wait. CIC ottawa did not respond to email..

Last week I was told its all looking positive, today I was told that its waiting a final review.. who knows what the truth is. I just want to get done and over with this as its becoming so stressful. I have to travel organise my personal life but everything is on hold until I hear a final decision on this.

Hi there. I did call CIC last week when they told me that my file is In Process, and that they just didn't update it on their ecas. But the sad truth is that I have never seen anyone get a Passport Request whilst their ecase shows mer. It has to be "IN Process" in ecas before PPR is issued and that makes me wonder what really is stopping them from putting it "In Process" if it really is in process.

Not entirely true. There's been quite a few people here in the past year who jumped straight to DM or PPR from medicals received.

This is the happiest news I have gotten in months! ;D ;D ;D I personally never saw anyone get a DM or PPR straight and hence my observation. But this is great news for me and several other people in the same timeline I am sure. Thanks Liisa.

I have seen many updates on this forum where people got PPR or DM after Medicals.

Glad to help! I believe it's mostly because ECAS doesn't get updated very regularly. So it's possible that a file gets IP and DM, but ECAS is only updated with the new information a week or two later. And if the processing is very straightforward and quick, then PPR may be issued before any sign on ECAS.

In general ECAS is not a very reliable source of information at all.

i am personally not depending on ecas anymore. I know that my file was received in ottawa processing center on feb 21 and i assume i am in process since that time. It is just the officer who is handling my file , is slow or my verification is taking long time.

my wp before was going to expire in 2 months then i have my nomination certificate and file number submitted to them. i selected open wp on what types of work permit should i apply. and then i never put any employer in the questions intended employer, i put NA.

Don't worry, I am exactly May 14th applicant as well and same status, the only change so far, it has been the request for RPRF on February 5th, still medicals received in eCas

you married or single applicant? coz we have the same timeline but got PPR last mar 2. im single aplicant, maybe it matters that much coz they need to background check your dependents if your married.
