I am May'2014 applicant. AOR and medical was done in July.......but same status still showing file received 13 may,2014.

My work permit is going to be expired in april. please help if someone has same experience. Any idea how much time it will take to get In process and after that decision made ????

Unfortunately there is no real "rules"...
From IP to DM should takes from 1 to 3 months I guess (based on my friends experiences), but nowadays it's a completely mess!
I switched from IP to DM in less than 2 months, but people like Diaboluce can tell you that THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A RULE (it's actually a kind of miracle based on the timeline of other applicants here).

One year ago it used to takes just 8 months from the day you filled your application from the day you get PPR (always talking for BC PNP applicants...actually BC PNP applicants who are friends of mine), but now it's not like that anymore. :(

I just sent an email to COC-Ottawa. Let's see what happens.

My PM will not run for re-election and his assistant did not reply my last email, two or more weeks.

Just wondering, if the applicant went university in Canada, lived in Canada since age of 18 ( study), is it faster?? cause maybe the criminality and security check would be faster??? just a random guess.....

I don't think so.

My guess is that everything depens on your name and DoB. If your name and/or last name is similar to someone associated with crime, terrorism or whatever, they might take a little longer to clear you. I guess it also applies to requesting RCMP fingerprints or not. Let's say if your name is Uzama Been Ladyn (lol!) they might ask for fingerprints and additional info in order to clear you from beign an evil man, which would require additinional effort (and time) from everyone.

My two cents.

I am May applicant too and I can tell you that I do not know of a single "inland" one that has gotten into IN PROCESS yet. However, I am being optimistic and I think you might be getting or have already gotten PPR by April 2015, but I wouldn't push it and just apply for a new work permit to be safe...

I studied University in Canada for 6 years. 2 years working after graduation. I'm a March applicant and no IP yet :/
So no, it's not faster.
