Yea applying BOWP right now makes a lot of sense. Mine was a post graduate open work permit. and it was restricted to 2 years instead of 3 years because my passport expired in April 2015. Now that i have my new renews passport thats not an issue any more. Also I got to know from somewhere that if your post graduate work permit is reduced to less than 3 years then there shouldnt be a problem in getting a BOWP. let me know your guys' inputs.SpoonRaccoon said:Implied status is usually to stay in Canada so you don't have to leave when you're waiting for certain permit. If your work permit expires, your nomination will be canceled(AINP). Your SIN number will expire and you won't be able to get paid(although this depends on how the payroll in your company works. Mine pays me twice a month but does tax transfers every 2 months) or you'll get paid but your employer will tell you that your SIN is invalid.
You can apply for a BOWP right now and avoid many many possible issues.
thanks
