Should those below 460 give up and move on now? :'(

The high cut off score is not what bothered me. It the number of invitations that are disappointing. If this is inline with the new targets, the score will probably never come below 460 now. To think about it, if I had created my EE profile three weeks ago, I would have received an ITA already.

I have not even started looking at PNP system till now. I am going to but, from what I heard - the PNP system is very specific about requirements?

You do not need very many ties to the province- I have never even been to Canada, let alone Ontario, and I managed to land myself an OINP PNP. You should look into the program for sure.

Oh wow, that's some good news. What ties did you provide?

Do not be so pessimestic guys.. If you skim through the declared immigration plan, you will see that the number of economic applicants who are slated to be accepted this year are slightly less than the previous year and about half of 2016 economic applicants will be brought from pre-express entry inventory (Backlog of FSW & CEC 2014)..so it is expected that the thresold score will hover in a narrow range of 450-475 in the next few draws...but after several months, it should drop as a result of terminating the pre-express entry inventory.

None. I just ended up writing an essay about why I want to reside in Ontario, discussing its weather, geography multiculturalism, urban centers, and economy, and stated those as my reasons to want to move.
It seems to have worked! ;D

I don't think it will work for everyone. Worth a shot though. Would it be too much to ask for some more tips ;D

Some are stupidly hard, some are easy as pie (these get filled their annual quota within 3 days or less).

But first determine which province you are willing to go, and go from there.

Honestly, my tip is to just start the process now and get it in asap- and make your letter of intent a very compelling, well, essay, honestly. Just write about WHY Ontario appeals to you so much more than wherever you are now, and you may even be in with a shot- CEC applications are also processed quicker than FSW, so you might have a good shot there too.
