She never did any biometrics, but has done them previously for a professional license (i.e. doctor). Surprised they never requested it but am very glad because they are/were open in the US, but won't be in her home country for a while.

No medical needed?

Can anyone refer me to the Facebook group where they are petitioning for special TRVs for spouses? This is honestly getting so frustrating now. What credible options can we pursue to highlight our plight? I cannot believe family reunification is such a low priority for the Government of Canada.
They are asking to give this" special temporary visas" to to those whose applications got past sponsor approved stage. Those of us who still haven't gotten AOR yet are out of this

You should still support this because you could possibly get SA in 6 months or longer! And that is the fastest stage...wait for AOR2 could take many more months, so an STRV would reunite you with your spouse 50-70% faster. And she wont have to reenter Canada ...Dont u want that?

I know, but I see here that some applicants from August till December 2019 getting approved for permanent residence

No. Just the online application.
Hey, when did you apply for this? The bio metrics she did for doctor was at a visa centre or separate location not related to immigration? Also in your online application, did you apply with the covid instructions (family member exempt, they released some rules for covid) or general application?

I have submitted Family sponsorship application in Feb 2020 and received email from IRCC on March 2,2020 that they have received our application.
We havent got any update yet. My question is, can my husband apply for visitor visa to enter canada as his application is in process.?

When in Feb did you submit?

Are Canadian embassies open in India to apply for visitor visa?

PR applications starts in Canada and after they are transferred. TRV applications are processed in different embassies abroad. I don't even have an AOR 4 months after I applied so I find this like a good solution.
Even if we get this you know the government is going to botch it. It will probably take a year to roll out, by then things will be back to normal and they will make the rules too strict so only like 5% who apply get it.
I've been waiting 4 months for my AOR, at this rate I'm expecting my wife's visa to take at least 2 years... I'm starting to wonder if I should should just move on with my life.

Same here, I am thinking of leaving Canada as well and get a job somewhere else where I can stay with my wife
