I was just on the phone with an agent, he told me that they don’t give temporary file number and the people who got them spoke to agents that are not doing their job “properly” :( I waited for more than 30 mins to speak with an agent and got nothing. The agent just said that they are not processing any files received after Feb 12. I told him that I knew a lot of people who got their AOR after feb 12 and he just said I have to wait until they process our application. Is it worth calling again and trying another agent for a temporary file #?

I sent my sponsorship application to CPC Sydney 49 Dorchester Street thru ExpressPost by Canada Post in March
Received on March 16, but the signature was "MG COVID 19".

No hear back since March 16

I think the temporary file number just gives us mind peace letting us know if our applications are there. It's very weird his answer, maybe he meant it was confidential. Some agents more willing to collaborate than others. At the end the important would be there is movement there.

I called them today and yea i am the sponsor..this is the number ‭1 (888) 242-2100‬ and when they give u option to select just press 2 then 1 and then 0.. call them at 9:00am
Did you have a UCI number or did you just give them basic information?

I think so too! I also asked him how would I assure that my application didn’t get lost, he just said if I got a tracking number and said it was delivered then they have it, just haven’t been open yet. This is so frustrating :(

Did you ask if any word on when they might start processing???

What is the point of those "temporary numbers" if they can't be linked or confirmed in any other way? From all your posts, it looks like the number is more like a placebo.

- Yeah, we have your application. Here is the number that you can't check: 12345
- Did you say 89234?
- Doesn't matter

It's true, it just says the application arrived there, not if it will start to be processed. It's better then to call them and ask them when are they going to start to process our applications

They won’t give you a temp application number if they haven’t started looking at your application. When I did a quick search most people who got temp numbers received AOR 5-14 days after.

Okay, as long as there is logic to it, why not. Hopefully, it's not just a distribution of random fake numbers to make people feel better and call less often

I don't think its random because when I called, they asked me some info and then the agent read some of my personal details like address etc to me and asked me to confirm if it was correct. So definitely some progress for sure, I hope.
