It's discouraging to hear people who have been waiting on a test/oath for over a year. They are already ahead of us, since they are in "In Progress." Makes you wonder how long we will have to wait. Unless IRCC starts doing stuff virtually/remotely, it'll likely be 1.5-2 years :(

With the speed IRCC is going, it may take even more than 2 years!

CIC received my files on 13-May and until now no news for AOR yet.

Quick question: If I forgot to check on the check box on the document checklist for payment (but I attached payment receipt with other documents for both me and my daughter for total CAD 730, will CIC return my application? I can’t remember exactly whether I check on that check box or not. Thank you in advance and any idea?

When I make the payments for me and my child, I
paid total $730 ($630 for me+ $100 for me) paid in one transaction payment. But I print out and attached payment receipt for both me and my application. Is that ok? Thanks in advance.

Well, the passport I sent IRCC with my citizenship application back in March has expired. Two questions, if anyone knows:

1. If I were to get a new one, would I have to send an update to IRCC with the new passport number/copies?
2. If so, would this delay the citizenship process even further? The last thing I'd want to do is delay things more by getting a new passport. I'd rather just wait.

Thanks in advance!

My application was delivered on March 4th, and I'm one of the unlucky ones still without an AOR.

Do any members have any thoughts or reasoning behind the random delays in AOR?

As per the trend, some applicants receive their AOR in an orderly fashion and some have to wait a few more months. I'm wondering what might be happening during this time and any clue what may have led the application to go out of the main queue?
Me too. Sent on Mar 2. Still waiting. Some days I worry while other days, I relax thinking that as long as it’s not returned and with IRCC, I shouldn’t worry bc later or sooner, they will open it n send me the AOR.

I had sent a web enquiry checking if my package had even been delivered or got lost since I had not received AOR.

The response from them said that my file is not on their system yet, but rest assured they are only working on files from January 15 at the moment. Seems like a straight faced lie because even some May applicants have received AOR.

Personally I didn't bother with Fedex and such and just sent using Canada Post. It's still trackable. With the Corona virus and the length of processing, - these 6-7 days difference won't make it or break it. Having said that, if you don't mind paying extra just to "get it there" - go for it.
Canada Post with tracking. The day you mail the application, it starts the process and you need to keep the mailing receipt, just for your own peace of mind. And if you need to request help from your MP.

Someone I know got his AOR for May 25 application. I am March and no AOR yet.
My question is-
Are the test dates decided as per AOR date? or Application received date??

If it will be AOR date, then that's definitely unfair.
