It seems that the AOR stop issues after March something 2020. I did not see anyone with the AOR date for the month of April 2020. If this process stops after March, I wonder when they will start to process again.

If these delays continue maybe due to COVID, what is the process to ask for a new PR card or an extension date on the PR. And is the new PR card application complicated? And how long will the new PR card take? Does anybody have experience on how long the PR renew card takes at this very stressful time?

PR card renewal processing too got impact as my neighbour is yet to receive the card for which she applied in March. Ask in respective thread on timelines currently who recently received PR card and how long afterwards.

Finally some good news for Citizenship applicants. Go to Jan 2020 forum: someone received AOR through email today (8 Jul 2020). So at least the process has restarted. Hopefully, many more will receive their AORs now. Don't know what they are doing about tests, but if they have restarted the process, they must have thought through the next steps also. Good luck all.

Since there was no reply from IRCC after submitting my citizenship application in mid March 2020, I thought of having an enquiry about it and this is their reply. anybody has any idea or suggestion on this?

However, rest assured that this situation is normal since the responsible office is currently processing applications received before January 14, 2020.

When an application is received by IRCC, it can take several weeks before the processing begins. There will be no record in the system until the processing has begun.

Citizenship Application
I applied 24th Jan 2020 was received and signed for 28th
Returned to me on 24th Feb with an error. Returned it same day and was signed for on 28th.
Still not heard anything with regards to AOR. But heard thing are now slowly being processed.
I have heard contradicting stories. With regards to returned applications
1. They are treated as new application
2. They are put back with the date originally received?
Any advice?

Even before covid period, they were not able to trace the application or provide application status till the application is entered/keyed into the system. So no point in asking them till we get AOR. This department is different than the receiving department and certainly they cannot find through thousands of packages and give us answers.

We really dont have control over it. Some applications were considered to original date and some werent as per the earlier forum posts. So first lets get AOR and then track how fast the application progresses. We cant do anything at any stage with respect to speed of processing. Hopefully we get our AOR this/next month which is a big thing right now to worry about.
