@legalfalcon Hello sir. I would like to know is there an option to withdraw an application after copr and visa issued for permanent residency. If yes then what are the various options?

After COPR is issued, your application is approved and closed. If you no longer want to become a PR, you can inform IRCC via webform.

Hi everyone!
I have a query, my passport is about to expire in 4 months. I recently received a letter for Re-medicals which I passed on 16th Dec 2021. My case file as per gcms is approved since September last year.
What if I receive ppr and my passport expires soon after that? Does ppr remain valid for new passport or I have to update my passport and get an updated ppr?

@legalfalcon your advise as usual will be highly appreciated.

@legalfalcon what is your advise? my file is already approved as per gcms. Can updating passport via webform delay the process? Because right now the passport is valid for 4 months.
I thank you in advance for your advise.

If you have renewed your passport you should update it with IRCC. It does not delay the process. The longer the duration of your passport the chances are the longer the validity of your PR visa and COPR

Hi @legalfalcon
I am an outland applicant aor march 2020.
I applied for PR without my husband, no accompanying spouse i mean. However this year in January IRCC sent us an email and requested my husband to fill in forms for temporary residence visa (all the forms) They didn’t ask him to do a biometric though ( he did medical with me in February 2020)
Now my medical has been updated on September 13, 2021. Should we expect IRCC to issue him a visa when I recieve my CORP ?
One point about my husband is that he has had multiple Schengen businesses visas from Germany in his passport and has had nearly 30 trips to different European countries in the last 10 years as a businessman . Does this make him exempt from biometric?
We are a bit confused about our case now and would be grateful if you could help us with this.

Hi @legalfalcon,

I received an re medical request today. I am the secondary applicant and my wife who is primary applicant didn’t receive the request. I would like to know if i need to wait for her request to come or can i do the medical upfront for her as we did the first medical in jan 2020 and from the gcms notes , i found that our medical have been extended for one year. By Jan 2022 all our medicals will be expired.

Also, in my last gcms notes, all stages apart from security was passed. Security was left blank for almost an year. Does this medical request mean that security stage is now passed?

The medical request is sent individually. So if you received it, you have to get it done within the time prescribed.

If IRCC would like to have your spouse get a remed, then they too will get a request for the same.

If you did not apply for your spouse as accompanying and you did not file an application for a visa, I am not sure how a visa will be issued to you non-accompanying spouse. Do you have a visa application number for your spouse?

All individuals have to give biometrics unless they meet one of the exemption criteria, see https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ty-management/biometrics/exemptions.html#toc9

hi @legalfalcon,

thanks for your response. Now regarding the second part ofmy question.

Thank you very much @legalfalcon
He has only UCI number , but no separate application number. He is written as “dependent “ in our application file.
However he was asked in January 2021 by IRCC to complete forms for military records, IMM5257 (this is specifically a visa form), and IMM5669, and also they asked for his renewed passport. The IRCC opened a space in my PR application to upload these forms. I hope these mean they will issue him a temporary visa.

Hello! @legalfalcon, Hope you are well! My medicals were extended for 1 year till 28 March 2022 as per GCMS. If I do not receive PPR by this date, it means I would have to go for re-medicals, right?

Thank you very much for your reply dear Karimat
I would be grateful if you keep me posted about the final news of your application. I want to know if your spouse will get a visa at the same time as you because we have similar cases

Irrespective of whether a spouse is accompanying or not, all family members have to be admissible for medicals, security and scriminality. If any one family member is inadmissible the entire family becomes inadmissible.

That will depend on IRCC if will extend it again or ask for re-meds.
