Hi.. Anyone else applied for a Open Work Permit along with their application?... my wife is currently working as an Internal Company Transfer (ICT VISA) ..which is similar to CLOSED WORK PERMIT for 2 years with the Same employer...

Any idea what is the timeline for OWP? Can it come with AOR1?

Appreciate if anyone has any insights on this?
You can only apply for OWP on an inland app and it takes 3-5 months to receive.

Hi
ECAS stands from Electronic Client Application Status. This on-line service allows Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) clients to view securely the status of their immigration and/or citizenship application(s) on-line

From google

And to add to what angelyohann said, there's a link to ECAS on the first page of this thread, as well as to GCKey, which is where you can track your application once you have been given an application number! Still a while for us March applicants to hear anything from any of those places though. Waiting game for now.

Hello Everyone,
I need help from you guys in my case, please.

I am applying for the Sponsorship application for my wife next week. (She currently resides in India)
I need some advise on if I can apply for her Visitor visa as soon as our file reaches to CIC office or if we should wait until we get AOR from CIC.

In allmost of the cases they are refused giving a visitor visa you can try if you want but it is always refused
You have to wait until the application is done and she got the immigration visa
Good luck

Certified translator
A member in good standing of a provincial or territorial organization of translators and interpreters in Canada.

sorry I don't know how to insert pictures. I got the above blurb from the CIC website. I'm not doubting what you did but just want to make sure the correct information is given.

Under that part it says something about translations outside of Canada, if you cannot get them done but Canadian interpreter it can be done by a certified translator. I did mine in Nicaragua, basically they attach a stamped document stating that it is accurate and true to the document and they are a certified translator of what ever organization they belong to.

I have a friend from high school that also requested his wife in Nicaragua for PR he did the same with her documents and she got her's fine.

Welcome to the thread! Yep, we're all waiting for AOR now. I've read that it can take all the way up to 3 months to hear back, but based on the January and February trackers, it looks like people are currently hearing back after around 40 days. So let's cross our fingers that March applicants start hearing back mid/late April!

Dear Phaeo,
So good to hear pleasing news, I hope that as you mentioned 40 days we receive in 40 days or even earlier.

Hey, all y'all! Originally had my application signed for by Sydney office on Jan 17, had it sent back March 11 (received it on March 20), and we sent it back again today (March 21). Silly administrative error. So I shall be joining this group!

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it !!
