If I applied for a visitor extension, I am changing my status from worker to visitor. I have worked for same employer for 2 years and my job is very important to me. We didn't want to risk my ability to work, so he decided I should just wait for AOR. My IEC visa expired April 20, 2019. I was sweating it, for certain, but my faith was that I was paying an attorney to triple check everything, and it paid off. They have an internal check system that goes through 3 completed application viewings with 3 different people.

Did they specifically said they it was returned because of that missing fee?
Our app is received on May 2, so I found out about the missing payment pretty early (but not early enough..) so we paid it today and then sent as Additional documents via IRCC web platform with the copy of receipt and explanation plus I want to mail the hardcopy as well with an explanatory letter. Hope it will work...
I read that sometime they use PR fee to cover the difference - does it really depend only on the officer who work on the app?
What I understand so far is that you don't have an implied status because your application was received today (when you received AoR). So you had to and have to stop working. I suggest calling IRCC to confirm this, and because you are already out of status, you have to restore your status before getting an open work permit.

I suggest you read IRCC regulations before "offering advice" regarding IEC and status. I have implied status through my OWP I am waiting for. The fact that I received AOR today reassures me all will go well on OWP, and I know all the fees have been properly paid (biggest issue for refusal). It has been discussed here as well as other forums that IRCC confirmed several months ago in writing, implied status for IEC participants. Of course, my attorney was aware of that fact and recommended this course (I have a highly regarded immigration attorney).
I understood that soon after I posted. My apology.
However, I was under impression that you should get an AoR before your valid work permit expires in order to benefit from implied status.

Did you also send your Canadian police certificate (CPC) along with your application?
There is an applicant got his/her package returned due to missing the CPC, but I thought it was not required as it was written on the checklist that IRCC will request it on our behalves.

I second that. Implied status is only for applying and waiting for a decision on extending a temporary stay in Canada. That means visitor, student, or worker status applying for another visitor, student or worker status. Applying for PR itself does not confer implied status, but applying for OWP (worker status) with PR does confer implied status.

STILL NO AOR................ ANYONE WITH THE SAME SITUATION? GETTING ANXIOUS..
Still no AOR, app received 15th of March, I called crc, and they told me to wait. They can also tell if app was returned.
