~~~~~ URGENT ADVISE NEEDED ~~~~~~ Any and all will be appreciated
Hey guys,
I received my PPR last month end and my passports have now been submitted for PR visa stamping.I intend to do my soft landing by Dec/Jan. My query is that what if i had to renew my passport (as pages about to get over) after obtaining the stamped PR visa. What happens to the PR visa stamped in the existing one as the passport would be cancelled upon issuing new a new one.
OR does it work like the US tourist visa where even though you issue a new passport in the future, whenever you intend to travel you just need to carry the old passport with the US visa .
What is the protocol to be followed in case i get it renewed ? Anyone tried and tested anything ? Any legitimate source that can be found regarding this topic kindly share. Relying on this group as always for us valuable inputs.
Bro
My standard advise for all visas is that as long as you carry old PP, with valid visa, it works. This is because your new passport will mention on the last page your old PP number. This connects both passports to one person.
However, I know that for most countries, whatever visa you have. If you need, you can get it repasted in the new PP... however, I have never got it done.
Dont think too much. Go get the new PP.
Congrats!
I'm 7 months and 4 days in... my VO is Montreal so I'll be lucky if I get PPR this year.
Mine too. My AOR is April 4th and I got a GU two days ago. Looks like Montreal is having some movement on files finally.
No one is slower than Sydney
Sydney is super busy. Mine moved from Sydney to Montreal because Sydney was too busy. But, to be fair, an IRCC agent told me all applications statt there.
New passport will be your valid TD (Travel Document) and the visa in the old passport will be valid. This is the usual case. Passport cancellation means it's no longer a valid TD but doesn't cancel the visas within it.
However, since you have already submitted the passport for PR visa, that means you do have an empty page for the visa (and an adjacent page for stamping). Can't you hold off the renewal until after the soft landing? I guess it's more of a personal choice but I'd not have gone into the least bit of uncertainty in this case and would have just renewed later.
Hi everyone !
It's sad that Ralph Goodale has lost the election - was very helpful for us all.
Now that - his office is no longer in position to get our status update
ANYONE HAS ANY OTHER REF. EMAIL WHEREBY it's possible to gain some information on our application.
I recieved the message above on 21st of October. Please does anyone else have experience with this kind of message. What is the outcome? and how long does it take to get the message.
Has anyone received a Request for Updated CV with an attached Additional Information for Students form? If so, did this delay your application processing? What were the results? Thanks :)
