@Nj90 @salsyed, received my second ghost update this morning regarding my "background check" status.

Stages my "background check" status has gone through:
Stage 1: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information (false "IP2"). This status since the onset of my application.
Stage 2: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check ("IP1"). Ghost update 4 June
Stage 3: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information (true "IP2", I hope). Ghost update 10 August.

From what I've read on these forums, PPR could be imminent, but I don't want to get my hopes up too soon.

Fingers crossed for us March folks.
Another ghost update this morning. This time with no status change,no idea what it means, not that I really know what ghost updates actually mean anyway. Fingers crossed.

@Chefnimz Hey i have one question... what was the reason for your refusal?
In my case... i worked for same company but they changed the name of it in oct 2018. So my agent attached two letters
1.(dated feb 6,2018) the letter state that i start working with this company in july 2017 and currently working at manager.
2.(dated march 2018) state that i am working with this company since oct 2018.( because they change the company name in oct18)
problem here is that may agent f**d up, he should have checked the dates..... in first letter he didnt specify that i was working with the old company from july 2017 to sept2018.
I dont know why he didnt pay attention and now i have to suffer because of him.
I am really happy for all of you who got their PR.
Mine was previously refused because of the following reasons
1) The restaurant i worked at was sold after 8 months of me working there, (Sept to April) but name remained the same
2) I continued working there for additional time ( up until September ) to get experience
3) Only the former owner gave me a reference letter , the new owner was mean when I left after gaining the experience I needed so he refused to provide a reference letter
4) I submitted the letter , a L.O.E, t4 and paystubs at the beginning, but the former owner made a mistake with the dates in the letter he gave me ( he said sept 2016 to April instead of sept 2017 to April 2018)
5 ) When I noticed the mistake , I submitted a webform and attached a reference letter reflecting the correct date, but that's when things went wrong
6)The new reference letter I submitted , must have confused the officer, because In my refusal letter , the officer stated I didn't work for 1yr and I was not eligible . This was because the officer only looked my new reference letter and didn't look at my L.O.E , t4 and paystubs that I had previously submitted .
7) When I sent in a webform , I explained why I only had letter that said I worked for 8 months and also pointed out that my supporting documents were overlooked for the final decision. Pointed out that the payroll changed in April due to change in ownership as shown on my 2018 t4 and that's the same name on my paystubs and also has same address as the restaurant that I worked at .
8) Most importantly , I called the center and I spoke a good agent (on the second attempt) who was willing to listen to my explaination and he was the one who put in the request right away and I submitted the webform same day with the supporting documents again and explained the whole situation all over again and within 10 business days I was approved .

I had my friends helping me , they editted my L.O.E and helped me stay calm , so that I could read and understand the refusal letter and also to speak to an agent clearly . If you call ircc, make sure you know and are certain of what you're saying. I prayed every step of the way ,please don't hesitate to message for more Info and I'll alway be happy to help, Goodluck everyone !!!

I guess my situation is somewhat similar. My employer is very good is his willing to provide new letter of employment. Will it work if i got new one with all correct dates? My agent have attached t4, pay stubs so i guess those could be the proof that on first time dates were wrong? You think officer is going to consider new document?
It all happen because of company name was changed, but employer is same.
A reply would be appreciated as i dont know what to do.
Thank you in advance.

I always assumed the ghost updates mean that your case file is being moved from one stage to the next in the back end. Since the background check component is split into three different sub-categories on IRCC's end (criminality, eligibility, security), but is called "Background Check" on the front end, you'd get a ghost update when your file moves from Criminality > Eligibility and Eligibility > Security. It means progress is being made!

Lots of people are waiting this endless wait. I dont see any reason to worry. But to ease your tension, I would suggest getting a set of GCMS notes, or a call to IRCC. With agents, you have limited visibility, and that becomes stressful. Once you know things are ok, you can relax a little :)
Thank you for your words of confidence.

Hi All,
I have a couple of queries and would be great if you guys can help:
1. Do ghost updates come on mail or are visible in the account? If in the account can someone guide on which section to look cause i have not received any mails since my biometrics in May'19
2. My account has been linked to a representative as i applied through an agent. Will the visa/pr mail come on my ID or the representative?

FSW applicant from India with AOR on 22 Mar'19

Regards,
Jatin

It's definitely worth the try and make you explain the situation clearly and submit supporting docs with correct dates

Anyone here who has his/her background in processing for 4+ months? Seems like I am just stuck at this stage of the application. March 5th AOR.

I also ordered GCMS a week ago so looking forward to see the status of my application.
