Hi
Don't worry. Its quite normal. After Medical passed (MEP), file will be in IP1 Stage. Following are the different stages in PR File Processing from AOR to COPR.

AOR – NA1 – MEP – IP1 – NA2 – IP2– (NA3) – PPR – COPR

AOR: "Acknowledgement of Receipt". - This is a letter you will get within 24 hours after submission of your PR application.

NA1: "Not Applicable". - This will be your Background status message as soon as you submit and get AOR.

**UCI: UCI stands for “unique client identifier.” It is typically created directly before passing the medical exam.

MEP: "You passed the medical exam". - This will generally happen after approx 25-30 days after your AOR. For PNP applicants it can take more time generally.

IP1: "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check". - This will happen one or two days after your medical. Sometimes on the same day itself. CIC agents will do R10, criminality checks during this stage. Once they feel everything is good then they will change it to NA. These things will happen at CIO Office (Centralized Intake Office).

NA2:"Not Applicable". - This will signify that IP1 is completed. Sometimes IP1 will take few hours and if we have not checked our account during the time it was in IP1, it won’t be possible to know that we are in NA1 or NA2. Our file will be transferred to CPC (Case Processing Center) where agents will do eligibility assessments. If they feel everything is okay, then they will provide their recommendation to Visa Officer and same time they will initiate Security Checks.

IP2: "We are processing your background check. we will send you a message if we need more information." - Visa Officer starts reviewing or after reviewing all agents recommendations. On the same day, PPR request will be triggered if the applicant paid RPRF up front. These things will be done at CPC office.

**ADR: "Additional Documents Required". - Sometimes an additional document is requested in IP1 or IP2 stage.

NA3: "Not Applicable". - This will signify that IP2 is completed. This status is not visible is many cases and direct PPR request is placed from IP2.

PPR: "Passport Request". - You will get an email for that and you may not get an update in your CIC account for this.

COPR: "Confirmation Of Permanent Residence".
That was pretty comprehensive. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I had always lacked the understanding of the process in terms of stage of it after submitting application. Not any more, thanks to your post. As per my understanding, after reading several post in this thread, many of the applications are moving in the same time frame from AOR to IP1, that is 7-10 days. I guess the major work starts with IP1. I am bit anxious for my application to move from IP1 to IP2. Hoping for the best. Thanks again!

Hi, I recently got the ITA.. whta will be the next for me..
You will be required to Submit Your PR file with all the relevant documents to CIC within 90 days. If you are a PNP applicant you have 45 days to submit. Documents include job experience certificate, Bank manager certificate & Bank statement, Medical report, Travel history, PCC etc. Good luck mate.

I got the AOR on March 12th and medical passed 14th yesterday. At the same time, Background check was showing ''We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.'' Is this IP1 stage? Thanks

I found medical passed and background check changed yesterday. And I received en email from CIC this morning saying there is an update but there was no change for the profile. Is this the late notice for yesterday's update?

Hi,
How many people here are still stuck in IP1 after medicals passed and since when? It seems IRCC has changed the workflow after 27th Feb update. Not sure if this is true or not. Since IP1 normally changes to NA2 on the same day as medicals passed or a couple of days later. I am stuck in IP1 since a week now. Anxiously waiting to move to NA2 or hopefully IP2.
