Hi all! It has been a while since last time wrote anything here.

Just wanted to share my time line:
Citizen sponsoring wife from Japan, living together in BC, outland application.

Sent -- Mar 28
Received -- Mar 30
AOR -- Apr 18
SA approval -- Apr 21
ECAS "in progress" -- May 2
AOR2 -- did not receive. Only received PDF saying "transferred to Ottawa"
BGC started -- Aug 31
DM -- Sep 1
PPR -- ?
CoPR -- ?
Landed -- ?

Medical -- upfront
Sch A, PCC -- upfront

On Aug 29, we received PDF saying "CPC Mississauga will be processing the application".
Bkg check status changed quickly thereafter. BGC and DM dates might be a couple days earlier, did not check everyday.

I have seen some Japanese wife got CoPR directly after DM, skipping PPR, while some did get PPR. We are crossing fingers our case will be the former

I know the application kit says Sch A and PCC are to be submitted later when requested, but we can just send them upfront. I wonder why not everyone does this way to save time...?

My wife has a very similar situation to yours. She is from South Korea and an April applicant. Hers also went from Mississauga > Ottawa > Back to Mississauga. We got the same PDF on Aug 29th but we don't have a DM yet. Hopefully soon though.

Isnt it Japanese and Korean citizen should be transferred to Manila visa office for outland sponsorship? I'm just wondering why your apps were transferred to Ottawa VO rather than Manila VO. It's been awhile since I've heard someone received PPR email from Manila VO (way back in July). Our app is turning 6months this week, no update after additional doc request from manila vo on May 30th.

Yes, it normally seemed that Korean and Japanese were processed at Manila as that is what my wife keeps reading online. How ever she has been reading that other Koreans are now being processed in Canada too. I'm not sure but maybe they are processing some visa exempt country applications all in Canada now?

It looks like for the past couple of years Japanese citizens are processed in Canada even for outland applications. Not sure why tho.

I am March 22 and aor2 may 31. Needs additional doc (again sch A updated form) in first week of aug till now no update.

Same I was ask to provide additional doc first week of august, not updates yet, background check not in process yet either .

in june i was asked to submit an updated schedule a, they needed that in order for my application to transfer to manila visa office for further processing. this is when my gckey stated additional documents were needed, after i submitted the schedule a, a few days after mygckey changed to no additional documents needed.
first week of august manila visa office asked me for AOM and RPRF as i didn't pay it upfront, since then no updates.

Application received - April 06
AOR1 - May 03
SA, Medical request/sent - May 09
Updated Schedule A request/sent - June 23
AOR2 - July 17
RPRF and AOM request/sent - August 04
Background Check in progress - ???
