I also had my application signed for on the 7th, however I signed up for the SMS notification and I've yet to receive anything via text

Any of you guys signed up for that?

I signed up for that too. They received my husband's application on March 9th 2:50pm and signed by David in mailroom, however, I didnt received any SMS notification from CIC.

Hey all,

I was wounding if we have to send the police clearance with the application? I'm getting my application together and in the check list is says don't submit it now wait after your application is received you will be requested to schedule a then police certificate. And the same with the medical examination . So there's no point of doing upfront right!

Hi All,

I am almost done filling all the forms and collecting the documents , did not include the medicals and the PCC yet as CIC is gonna sent a request later . Was wondering if anybody know the approximate time frame as to when would CIC ask for these docs? just want to be prepared !

Thanks

Generally it seems to be (at least for the police check) fairly soon after linking the application on MyCIC. If you need a police check that takes a while, you're going to want to initiate the process well prior to this point to account for that (I'm thinking specifically of non-US citizens or PRs needing an FBI check from the US, there may be other examples but I'm unfamiliar with the time it takes to obtain police checks from other countries).

As for medicals, just from casual observation it seems to be coming after sponsor approval and/or shortly after the application gets transferred to a VO. In other words, so stupidly soon there's no reason they shouldn't still allow them as an upfront option anymore.

Thanks for the reply...now I already have a PCC for my spouse which is valid until the end of march , but we got her passport updated so her passport Number is different now . I was wondering will I able to sent the PCC which is still valid but has the old PP number?
