Our application started being processed on March 3rd.. we got background started on july 31st, decision made august 1st and ppr on august 7th.. now waiting for the passport to come back with the visa .. one piece of advice for anyone who is awaiting file being transferred to the principal applicant's visa office (in our case NDVO or new delhi visa office) .. ours took a while too because we sent schedule A forms in webform and they were experiencing a lag in sorting through those forms. Please submit via mail and u will see results quicker. I am wondering if anyone knows if visa information is required to be entered while purchasing ticket for spouse. I'm looking to purchase the ticket a month from submitting ppr because it's obvious it will be back in about a month atleast.. travel agents say the visa info is not required while booking a ticket. I was also wondering about doing it with a canadian credit card and him not having the card with him when he travels, ive heard that can cause problems too. Anyone have any insight on this?

Sadly, my VO (Mexico) is not among those where 3 months after AOR2, DM happens. It's almost 3 months for us and I'm not even sure they have started our eligibility review. I am a Jan 25 applicant and if we are lucky, DM might happen by Oct at the very earliest, I think.
have your background check started?

I have never heard that we have to carry the credit card with us while traveling. It might depend on the airline but l have traveled plenty of times when my husband used his credit card to pay for my ticket and l didn't have it on me and it was no problem.

Also, no! You don't need visa info to purchase a ticket but if l WERE YOU l would track the flilghts prices and see if they are stable l would buy it later, with the passport on hands! But if the prices are going up too quickly, yes, go for it! Just my opinion :)

I would say it took about 10 days or approx 2 weeks give and take. It's best to submit it by mail and express service and call cic to make sure they have received it. Unfortunately they are lagging behind in their webforms.. that's what they said to me when i called, and hence i sent by regular mail instead. Just make sure your spouse's signature is authentic and not photocopied on the papers. They asked me to resubmit as they don't want photocopied signatures on Schedule A forms.

Thanks for the advice, i've had the indian airports ask for credit card proof that was used to purchase the ticket so i have experience dealing with such a situation. I know it's so unwarranted because anyone could buy a ticket for anyone, it shouldn't really matter.
